Re: Question regarding 1/4 Time

If his car has a racing stripe on it, then it is possible to get into the 5's....... Or these http://www.ebay.com/itm/2PCS-CHROME-...lWhKTZ&vxp=mtr

FWI docorative means it adds like 250 ponies.

Re: Question regarding 1/4 Time

Maybe due to the time of day it is, you didn't realize the seriousness of my response though.

If it was a yellow car, and he painted the valve covers to match, and put on a bigger spoiler, hell yeah that's possible!!!!

The guy is full of it, but then again you already knew the answer to that question.

Re: Question regarding 1/4 Time

No stock unmodified 305 car ever hit 13s much less 12s. Now with a lil help I could see a 5spd car maybe clipping 13s because stock they would hit mid 14s.

Re: Question regarding 1/4 Time

A 305 isn't a high HP engine from the factory. As just mentioned, it's unlikely they'll get into the 13's in 100% stock trim unless racing at a sea level track in the winter time when the density altitude is a few thousand feet below sea level. Stock eliminator cars might do it but they're far from 100% stock.

No matter what someone says their car will run, without a timeslip to back it up, don't believe it. At least he's not making outrageous HP claims from bolt ons.

I'd say he probably has a 350 that he thinks is a 305 but then again, third gens didn't come with a 350/T5 combo.

Re: Question regarding 1/4 Time

The best a Tpi 305 with a 5-spd would do is maybe a 14.4 innthe 1/4 mile, these cars stock was not meant to beat a 350 Tpi car, as one of our readers said maybe the 1/8th of a mile.
Not even 13teens what so ever, on the other hand, of its a bc4 car? Well..... Different story as the bc4/1le 305 5-spd combo u have a shot of 13 teens, yes because the rear end is now the 3.45 posse and nothing in the car as far as power options, just plain Jane roll ups and manuals all as for the power options,

Then yes they have done a 14.1 to low as 13.8 bone stock

And for the other guy who said they never made a 5.7 with a 5-spd the ansear is incorrect, gm on the final year of 1991 for the late 92 years made the Annv edt car that gm said they knew nothing of, which I can't believe myself, it was not the 350 Tpi (wish) but the 5.7 tbi with the 5-spd manual, only 40 plus cars was taken out with the 5.7 stick shift that was only conv models, was taken to the other plant for the conversion and was done like this, but only conv models was with this feature, not option the number 8 letter vin was in fact the number 8 shown and was the 5-spd,

As a camaro lover and parts seller here in houston tx, I have seen one myself, I almost bet the costumer 300 dollars to prove he was wrong and not knowing his cars, (he was selling me this car as a parts car due to loat title) so I almost lost 300 bucks when I seen it for my own eyes, my mistake was not to take Picts of the pro numbers to show all of u guys this, stunned, shocked, and in disbelief it did happen with these cars, they was the Rs models only,

Just like of someone asked if Camaros ever had a digital dash? In the years of 85 and up, u would say no right? Well yes they sure did, actually more fully loaded then any Iroc z ever made to date, full leather to, not 1/2 and 1/2 full leather interior,

Not on the same subject but wanted to let this be knowned as there is so many more things done that was secrete to these cars that it's not funny and I'll show more of this in other subjects to come up

Re: Question regarding 1/4 Time

A 1989 1le to a 90 to 92 b4c combo will do 14.2 to low as 13.8 stock in the 1/4 mile

This is a fact: stripped down Camaro no power options, no AC, just plain Jane will do 13 seconds in the 1/4 mile,

Re: Question regarding 1/4 Time

Fuel pump yes
Wire harnes in engine bay yes
Under dash no same
Relays yes near firewall
Ecm computer yes

Fuel lines no

Drive shaft would prefer to aluminum one in the formula to be used

Rear end yes (depends what ratio u have in the Camaro)

Fuse box no

Good luck with this project I've done the same one to my personal car: not to hard to swap over

On a personal option when doing the swap have both cars head first side to side when doing the swap so this way u can see all that's needed down to the smog equipment

Good luck

John

Being pushed!

Stock 305/5spd/performance gears, 14.57 @ 91.71 after driving to the track with 88k miles showing (closer to 100k real miles). Maybe with less equipment and fewer miles & a cooler intake....but I think they would have to have slicks to pull 13's.
