Vortech TPI kit with Wobbling crank pulley

I have a Vortech supercharger kit i bought complete minus the spacer for the crank pulley. I used some spacers for the bolts and it wobbled enough to cause an engine vibration throughout the rpm range. Once i traced this down i scrapped the homemade spacer idea. Any ideas on getting a 1 1/8" spacer to go between the pulleys? I attached some pics of the current setup.

Cut a piece of cardboard in the shape that you need along with the bolt holes and snout area, get yourself a small 1 1/8" steel plate, place the cardboard on the plate, mark the diameter of the spacer on the plate, mark the holes, and have someone cut/drill it for you...

They said it was discontinued...which is odd because you think there would be one laying around. I guess i will contact Alumifab in Denver and have them make me one. Didnt know if anyone had run across a similar part from another supercharger company

Re: Vortech TPI kit with Wobbling crank pulley

It's not available anymore. The TPI kit used a odd thickness spacer, probably because they were worried about the crank pulley hitting the fan on single fan cars. The TPI crank spacer is #4GB017-041

The SBC kit uses two different spacers, one for vbelt and one for serpentine. The Vbelt spacer is #4GP017-041 (3.293") and the serpentine spacer is #4GP017-031 (3.695")

If the pulley is not hub centric on both ends he will break the crank snout off.

Mine measures 1.63", I just checked it when I took those pictures.

The reason these are no longer available, is Vortech standardized on the larger hub size used on the 6" aluminum crank pulleys (like the 10 rib). These older style spacers are meant to be used with stamped steel pulleys.

No, I won't sell mine. It's like a unicorn at this point, I'll probably never see another one

Wow, great info! Hope this research helps someone else too. Hey is it possible to get the other dimensions off that spacer? Thanks Joe

Since you have one, it should be fairly easy and cheap to have copied.

Yup. I could turn one on my lathe if I really needed to.

I can measure the hubs for him and he can have a machine shop whip one out. If it cost more than $100 I'd be surprised.

You are running the wrong crank pulley by the way. You should have two stock 7.5" GM crank pulleys.

Anyway, here goes:

If my lathe wasn't an epic POS I'd spin one out for him. My tool post has too much backlash, and I need a new chuck.

Haha, it wasn't sarcasm on my part, I was being serious.

Glad you're getting it done though...
