Started this as a project and got all the way to cutting and fitting the lights into the back of my 87 formula. I have mocked them into the car and they fit!!! Just need some trimming and maybe some light bracketry in the inside to mount off the studs of the OEM charger light to the firebird body. I have wayyyyy to much on my plate to entertain this project any longer and its been sitting in my basement for months. So its time for someone else to benefit off my hard work yet again lol.

The center housing has been cut and shortened by 3" all the electrical connections work as stock with a plug in the back end. A LED trailer light converter is included with this to hook up all the connections. After all this it will look and function like a stock charger tail light (which we all know is pretty darn cool and can be seen a mile away from the unique tail lights). The only thing was the center LEDS I had to hack up to shorten the section. So they do not work, it was a positive effect as I like the look better, but a strip of red LEDs can be inserted if you want the LED light ring to wrap fully around. The light is stupid bright and it looks awesome.

Here are some pics of the lights mocked up in my 87, and some showing the center lights and backups and how it all works and looks awesome. These lights go for $300 plus just for the center section and over $100 for each end. Im only looking to make what I have invested. Looking for $350 plus shipping.

That's pretty trick looking... why did you give up on it? With some trimming across the top and a filler on the bottom it could probably be made to work, is there enough depth in the taillight recess for them?

Time mostly. I'm doing a house reno and most of the work myself. On top of that my 87 im naking a full coil over setup, custom STB, moly kmember, custom motor mounts and the trans needs work.

Your lookin at it installed, there is enough room as u can see in the pics. A cleaner install woukd be to cut off all the black trim around the light to fit more like stock.

I think I have one when I get home. It fits pretty good. If u shorten the back studs on the light u can get more room.

Heres the only other pic I can find on the car at a slight side angle.

Fits perfect. The end lights can go back farther but the black outer trim lays up against the rear quarter quite nicely. The center section is pretty good, it can go back alittle and the back of the center section has like 10 studs (2 of which hit the center bulge behind the stock center section with the truck lock) and can have holes drilled into the body to mount them and push the center section back farther (inward).

My plan was to trim all the black off the lights and recess it in like the stockers, make a fill plate for the bottom center opening. Wire it up with the trailer module from the stock wiring and have everything look sick when done.

Would you separate the pieces? If so what would you want for just the left & right tail lights shipped to 14514? They both work correct?

Update. Side pieces of tail lights have been sold. Center section is still for sale. This is a great part to start with as all the work has been done already. PM me with a price offer.

I would like to get $200 for it OBO. ( not including shipping). These go for $350 used all the time.
