1985 Pontiac Trans Am 56,000 mile Survivor For Sale
Survivor is an often abused word in this hobby but in this case it really fits.
This car is 100% original paint & the interior is in STUNNING condition. 1985 was the first year for the new ground effects look and this car is finished in beautiful code 26 Dark Blue enamel paint - WA8596. The dot graphics stripes are in perfect condition, with no cuts, scratches or peeling of any kind and the lower grey accent ground effects are perfect as well.
Nicely optioned, this car has only had 116 mile put on it in the last 10 years and has been garage kept it's whole life. The brand new for 1985 LB9 Tuned Port 305 CID rated at 205 hp & 270 lb feet of torque starts easily with no smoke whatsoever. Coupled with the automatic, WS6 handling package, GW6 3:27 performance gears in the J65 Borg Warner 9 Bolt rear axle, this car is more than ready to take on the streets.
The interior got the AR9 Custom cloth 2-tone grey buckets with split folding rear seats and deluxe luggage compartment trim. The top of the line UQ7 cassette stereo w/EQ found it's way in and works flawlessly with the factory sub woofers. Cruise, tilt, A/C power mirrors, windows, hatch release all work perfectly and as you would expect them to in a low mile survivor. The sun visors are tight & nice as is the original headliner and sail panel trims. On the outside the lights all work, the unidirectional BFG's have good tread, and the headlights go up and down flawlessly without any gear grind at all.
I just dropped the car off yesterday for a full detail although it really doesn't need much - I also have a brand new AC Delco battery to replace the big box/no name brand that's in there now - just to keep it all GM! Price is $7950 OBO and I can assist with delivery in the Northeast for an extra fee if needed. This is a truly great find and for a 30 year old car to be this original & untouched is rare. You couldn't buy a beater and get it to this level for this price.
I'll have more pictures early next week once the detail is done but these should get you started. Feel free to contact me at thebosspontiac@hotmail.com and send me your phone number so I can call you back.
Thanks Third Gen.

Wow Chris, really really nice.
If it weren't for the 989 miles between us and the fact you have like 10 feet of snow right now, I'd be all over this.
Wonder what shipping would be????? hmmmmmm. (Wife would probably kill me)
GLWS!!!!!

Bob, check with roy@doortodoortransport.net he'd be able to give you some pricing and he knows where I am in CT. I think I've priced it under market so you should be able to get it shipped and still be good on the value.
Just buy something nice for the wife this Saturday and she'll be good.

They were still taking care of a few things when I stopped today - might pick it up tomorrow or Wednesday depending upon weather. The paint is STUNNING - there's a full reflection of me in that 30 y.o. paint on the quarter panel!
This car is REALLY NICE - on e-bay before the end of the week if not sold.

Car looks absolutely stunning! My garage is full, but if it wasn't I would be interested, I am a big fan of survivor cars.
On a side note-love the Knafel Pontiac sign-that historical entity is from my neck of the woods. GLWS!

sweet ride man.. you do have too many cars.. I bet you picked that up for a song.

that cars pretty hot in my book. Yours has all the goodies it looks like for the year except for the aero spoiler. that was an option in 85. you have all power and UT4 stereo and subs and all except t-tops. very very desirable car in my book. I would love to take it as a driver since long term value isnt as strong it would be like having a new one and starting fresh it looks like. sorry just dreaming of having Ts cut out lol

Wow, that is a gorgeous car!!!! Hardtop, perfect color combo, original paint.... Beautiful!!! First one in a long time that has caught my attention. Reminds me quite a bit of my Dad's '85 that he had when almost new. I just bought another low mile 3rd gen which is on its way, if I hadn't i'd seriously consider yours.
By the way, you live relatively close to me (I saw a pic of your red IROC that you must have bought from Don and I live about 20 min from him). We should catch up at a cruise night / car show this summer. Would love to see your black car (and this one of course if you still have it!).

Re: 1985 Pontiac Trans Am 56,000 mile Survivor For Sale
I think with the cars I have I can pretty much keep the driving to a minimum. I put less than 500 miles on my 88 last year. Gonna try and hit some shows this year with this one and the TTA.
I was really thinking of doing a LSX and ripping out the auto and throwing in a 6 speed and adding a roll cage, tub the rears and all that!!!!!!
JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!! I'd never do that!
I'll take care of it for ya!

Ha, I know you're jealous. I said to Chris after waffling and sitting on the fence to trade you! Then I said, I'm going for it. It is a beautiful car. I miss my 85 that I ordered new.It was Bright blue metallic WS6/w tops.

I plan on going to the cruise from the show to Tipp and stay at tipp and go home later. I wont stay for sunday. Bob, I will take you up on it if you go. I would love to flash back to my old car, man.
I have a friend who owns a porsche Targa s4 and he used to have a 88 GTA. We drove each others cars for a bit together. I will never forget that day and neither will he.
Also I would let you drive mine as well. 5 speed totally changes the feel of the car as you know.

As far as the 5 speed totally changing the feel of the car...When I met my wife in 87, She was driving a Burgundy 85 T/A 305 H.O 5 Speed, Tops, loaded. Yeah, totally different feel, loved that car. We traded it in 93 since we both had T/As for.........wait.......wait for it........A Mazda B2600 pickup!!!!!!!!!
You learn I guess.
