Hey everybody! Who's left?

Well it's been a long time since I've been on the boards and it's been a long time since I drove my car.. until now. I finally had the time and interest to put the car back on the road. It has antique plates now! I guess we are getting old!

Anywho, just wanted to say hey to the members in the area that may still be around..

Re: Hey everybody! Who's left?

I'm still here, but I'm out on the North side now.
My car is currently apart. I'm installing a line lock and adjustable proportioning valve. I expect to have it on the road again in a week or so.

Re: Hey everybody! Who's left?

Just started coming back about a month ago myself. Don't get by this thread much mostly because it's slow. And I'm on the same page as you Mike. Mine also hit 25 this year. $7 dollar safety inspections FTW! Need to rip off all the emissions stuff then I'll be popping wheelies outta the car wash.

Still here, still in Conroe, the bird is still doing great. RL has been unbelieveably busy lately and I rarely check out the forums. I hope to make it out to the big Third Gen Gathering this year.

Re: Hey everybody! Who's left?

I check in every few months. My car was unreliable for about 2 years. I finally replaced the fuel injectors and then the ignition coil. It's running fine now. I occasionally attend the cruise-in at the Lowe's parking lot at Pearland Parkway and 518 in Pearland.

My car still sits in the garage under a car cover for the last few years. One day I might fix it, just got tired of dumping money into it. I still check the board, just not very often.

Re: Hey everybody! Who's left?

Just moved the car from the parent's garage to my own (Conroe now). Only broke a brake line on the way over (don't ask). It's been sitting for ~5 years, right at the point where I tore the exhaust off and got mad at Spohn's sorry A-Arms setting my front wheels back a couple inches.

Got her washed and rolled into the garage. Next step is to figure out how to remove the locking exhaust cap I can't find a key to, and try to see about what's needed to get it started. I swear it ran... 5 years ago.

Re: Hey everybody! Who's left?

I saw 3.1's car yesterday. It looks like it will be a fun ride once it is back on the road. hopefully (with a little help/encouragement/goading) that will be soon.

It would be nice to have a few more (at least one) third-gen(s) at the weekly meet up here in Conroe.

Re: Hey everybody! Who's left?

I was glad to have the help. Thanks.

BTW, I re-positioned the ramps about 1' forward and got the car up on the lift today. From that spot it will go at least 2/3 of the way up and the garage door will still close.
I'll try with it all the way up later today.

Re: Hey everybody! Who's left?

I've been away from the boards for a LONG time. Over here in North Louisiana, not much going on. Almost two years ago I bought a new house with acreage. I've been playing with 2nd and 4th gens mostly the past decade. Just recently picked up a black t-top 87 Formula to convert into KITT. I managed to find an 83 Trans Am parts car that already had the fiberglass nose and scanner light prior to buying this Formula. Still have mostly 2nd gens around the house.

Here in San Antonio. Just had the power steering gear box replaced and had a new 700R4 pan with a drain plug put on along with a filter and fluid change. The last thing I was working on was replacing the red interior with black interior pieces.

It needs the frame straightened up front so the body panels and hood line up correctly. There are some things I just don't really know how to do. It puffs smoke when you start it up because the umbrella seals are probably toast and the lower intake manifold needs to be resealed (it's got a small leak by the thermostat). Other than that, it's just interior parts. The PO didn't take very good care of it, which is one of the reasons he sold it to me. Runs strong though, and it's fun to drive.

I'm still here. Still have the 91 Camaro - it's really my sons car (he's in the Marines), but I do all the maintenance and upkeep to the car while he is in the military. 2 more years and he'll take over - unless he re-enlists.

Guess who pulled their car out for the first time in 10 years?

Thought about you and found a 4 year old thread I though I would resurrect to say hi!

I'm back again. Finally moving on my car. Been blasted and is in primer. Starting to build components so I can reassemble when the body is in color

I feel like I've been in hibernation.... just pushed my car out of the garage to drop a tank, flush some lines, and swap the rear end out.... time to get her back out on the street.

Re: Hey everybody! Who's left?

I actually still check the boards from time to time. Actually just got my 91 back running. Had to drop the tank and change basically everything. I got about 4 years of work into this one that I’m never getting back. She’s finally in a good shape...
