Re: Fellow Kentucky Folk....REPORT!!
yeah i only see a hand full of them here and there. A few stock looking ones that must be DD's. And then there's the others, the ones I personally dislike...you know the ones with the 24s or whatever, and up, size chrome rims. Just ruins the car in my opinion.
I just think its nice to know there's some TGO members here.

Re: Fellow Kentucky Folk....REPORT!!
Is anyone planning on a Lexington or further I-64 East gathering. It seems like I'm the only one from Eastern Kentucky and I'm miles away from the cool stuff. I was just talking to my wife and we may try to hit one of the Summer nights cruise ins this summer. She has a cousin that lives in Somerset so I may try to haul mine down. Nothing special but the 4:10's kill it on the interstate...lol

Re: Fellow Kentucky Folk....REPORT!!
you're in London?! my grandma's from london, thats funny.
That's what a friend of mine has been pushing me to do, go from my 26.6 to some 28s or so. once I get some money i will. lol.
I dont know what would be a good place, and I also dont know how far I could go. I'm willing to go as far as the car will comfortably let me. I didnt get to drive it much last season after the new engine, so i'm not sure how this engine will be with a lot of interstate driving. Once I get it out again I'll do some short tests to see how it does and that'll tell me pretty much how far I could go. I wouldnt take it as far as bowling green or something like that, but something closer would probably be do-able. thats me anyways.

Maybe we can see how many are interested and find a central location. I need to fix a transmission leak and a few minor things. Im sure I will be ready by mid spring. Im sure spring would be better than hot summer temps.
Would Richmond be a good location? just throwing that out there.

I agree, central probably is best as well as spring time temps
that looks to be abuot the same distance from me as the location the other guy mentioned, clay city i think? Its got my vote, either of them that is.

www.kyhorsepower.com holds a shoot out at clay city twice a year. 1/4 mile drag racing but you dont have to race. Its a good site, all local KY guys. Lot of Lexington and Ashland area guys on there.
Richmond would be another option. Camarocentral is located there so maybe a meet and greet could be organized at there place.

Re: Fellow Kentucky Folk....REPORT!!
If my memory serves me right, Clay City is not that far from Richmond if you go through Irvine. There is a guy in Irvine who is parting out 250 third gens. I have bought some parts off him in the past and drove on to Richmond then back North to Lexington just killing time with the wife. I have been to Clay City several times and they have a great set up. Since they are going to be doing the shoot out maybe some one could work with the track to get an area in one of the grass areas around the track for everyone to set up and have a show as well. That way you could either show or race or both. Just what ever floats your boat.
Maybe another could be arranged in Richmond to allow for another gathering as well as maybe who ever wanted to keep in touch and meet up at one of the mid summer night cruises in Somerset. The more opportunities to meet up the better I say.

Re: Fellow Kentucky Folk....REPORT!!
dvmeter, Thats correct and not a typo. He has 250 Third gens he is parting out.
The last time I was there he had a few 4th gens and some GP's but the 250 count was just for the third gens. I was like a kid in the candy store. I have been there several times. He's a nice guy and is fair on his prices. He even restores a few. He buys some from salvage sales and from private people as well. The last time he had a 91 z-28 with a 350 and only 2x,xxx miles on it. It had very lite damage to the front and he already had the parts on it. He also had a 90 305 rs with lite side damage that he had already put a door and fender on that had 7x,xxx miles on it and this car looked like it had never been set in. I just wished I had had the extra money to bring it home. It was black t-top with red interior.

I called the guy yesterday and he is still in business. He said he still had all the cars but that he hadn't bought any in a while due to health issues, but he said he is doing much better now. So I hope he will bring some good cars in again soon.

Re: Fellow Kentucky Folk....REPORT!!
Hay upandcoming, what part of Ashland do you live in. I have some family that lives in the Ashland area. I'm in Ashland about every other weekend with my wife and kid. Actually I will be in Ashland on the 17th for a Dr. appt. I had to have emergency back surgery on New Years Eve. While most people are partying, I was just getting into recovery with a morphine pump when the ball dropped. So I guess I was getting some pretty good stuff to.
From where I live, I can be in Ashland in about an hour or Clay City in about the same. When you go to clay city, which way do you travel? Are there any good third gen parts yards around Ashland or Southern Ohio, or West Virginia? I only know of one but Its about 45 mins. out of Clay City in Irvine.
Back when I was in High School there used to be a lot of car shows around Ashland on the weekends. Do they still have them there?

Re: Fellow Kentucky Folk....REPORT!!
NMCA in bowling green sounds cool to me. I just cant make that kind of trip yet. maybe if i get a t56 like i want in time i could. But in my car's current state, I would be unable to attend something that far from louisville. perhaps in the future.
very nice looking car btw. i would have loved to have had a 3rd gen on that level at 18.

Not so much that. More like a car club type with a web site. And was gonna base it out of southern in Lou area. But don't really matter where ther person is from so much. I'm thinking of using river city third gen. But still undecided.

Name is not that much. And as for the fees I'm thinkin free until I or we. Get a grip on things and then we can start taking money up for certian things like banners and stuff.

Somerset sounds great. I'm going to try to make it down to one of the events. Does anyone know anyone who does good upholstery work. The side of my drivers seat is starting to pull apart and I would like to get it fixed before the shows start. All of the rest of the seats look good so I would hate to buy a set of new covers when I just need the one fixed.

April- Pre-'49 Classic's, Custom's & Hotrod's!
May- Mopar Mania!
June- Camaro's & Firebird's
July- PowerCruise presented by Holley
Performance!
August- Mustang Alley!
September- Corvette Summer!
October- Tri-Five Chevy's!
June is Camaro's & Firebird's at Somerset, this might be a good month to all meet there. Also, the powercruise in July is also pretty good.
