Do you want them to pull the motor or just build it?
We have a few Engine shops around here. On guy has been in several magazines with his motor. He even built a few for Reggie Jackson.
Morgan Motors here in town. Somerset has Cornetts machine shop.
All these guys have a good rep and stand behind there products.

Sup guys I'm from Campbellsville. But I'm stationed in Camp Pendleton, Ca. I normally go to Beech Bend, Ohio Valley, Clay City, or Russel Springs Dragstrips when i'm home I've raced a few times at London. Its aiight down there. As for some good engine builders check out the link below. These are some guys out of Louisville that I've known when I was just a little kid racing Jr. Dragsters. I'm gonna get them to build me a Forged 406 mill this winter.
If you're From Ky or south indiana and need an engine these are the guys that will take the greatest care of you. They specialize in High horsepower N/A, nitrous, turbo, or supercharged applications. So if you are looking to step up the power or just to refresh your old mill hit up http://www.knieriemracing.com . Tim and Glenn are the men that will take care of you.

Re: Fellow Kentucky Folk....REPORT!!
I've only got to race there once, in my impala. It was pretty slow, but I was having some tuning issues. I only got in 5 runs and then it started raining. I remember there being a guy in a white third-gen camaro down there that night. I can't remember his name or what he ran seems like it was mid 13's

Re: Fellow Kentucky Folk....REPORT!!
I know there was an 87 bird there that was a tube chassis car, that white camaro, and a green camaro. But like I said I don't get to go up there much. I tried to get my car going before last weekend a bunch of people from Bell County rented the track to see who had the fastest car in our county I think like 33 cars or something like that went. I know there is that black top performance in London or whatever it's called, but is there any other speed shops or anything like that around. I go to EKU in Corbin and can't find anything to do in between my classes. By the way I love the color on your car, that is almost what I want to do with my bird, except I was thinking about silver stripes instead of white. I love viper blue.

I know a few engine builders that sell some parts. Also a guy that sells good new and used parts. He has a business at his home.
I was considering black, but the price of the viper blue was the same. I wanted something diffferent other than the other camaros in the area.

Re: Fellow Kentucky Folk....REPORT!!
I understand that, the only place that is here in Middlesboro is Dixie, he did have a TTA and like 3 grand nationals, I'm still undecided on what shade of Blue I want. I like Viper blue but that patriot blue like on a dodge is nice to. I worked on my car all night last night tryin to get my new fuel cell in, but of course never enough time, I was wantin to get down to the last test and tune tomorrow at London. I am anxious to try out this car, but since I am going to miss this year I am going to do alot of work over the winter. Probably won't even get to paint for another year or so, so that isn't a big concern right now.

Folks, my 1988 GTA is for sale and I would really like for someone in the area to have it.
See this link
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/fire...ml#post3559951
I really don't want to sell it but life sometimes makes you make hard choices.
Also I haven't posted many of the extra parts I had gathered for the 400 engine I have been gathering parts for for over five years.
http://kyfbodies.org/vb/showthread.php?t=21595
Would make someone a super great combo deal on car and the extra engine stuff.

Now I must post the link for a 400 sb and other go-fast goodies I have to sell for the same reason I'm selling the car.
I truely wish someone local would get these parts.
I was going to try and build a 25 mpg, 400 rwhp GTA. Would have too if things out of my control hadn't occurred.

How are you liking that carbed LS1?
I have thought about doing that to a 5.3 truck motor. They are cheap and easy to find around here.
Did you do the msd box or the front cover and dist route?
How much did it cost to convert?

Re: Fellow Kentucky Folk....REPORT!!
Bluegrass, I love it. Any time I am at the track or at a cruise-in with the hood up and ppl walk by and do a double take, start scathing there head and ask what is that thing? For that reason alone I love it, It doest hurt that it runs 11.7's on the motor and in the 10's on a 100 shot either. I am running the msd box on my now. When I started on this car the only box that was out was that edelbrock box so I bought it then a month later MSD came out with theirs and it offers way more features that the edelbrock one didnt like rev limiter, nitrous timing retard and a two step rev limiter for burn outs or launch so thats the one i have now. I would think the front mount dis. setup would be more expensive than the $250-300 that the Msd box cost, plus you dont get all the features. And the install of the MSD box is simple its four connectors, a hot and a ground.

So say I have a 5.3 without the intake. As long as it has the coil packs, then it will work. Just need a carb/intake/msd box and the wiring harness for the MSD right? Do you have to have the original motor wiring harness?
What about adjusting the timing. Do you need a laptop?

Re: Fellow Kentucky Folk....REPORT!!
The only wiring harness you need comes with the MSD box. No need for the stock harness. The timing can be adjusted three ways The hand held programmer that MSD sells, the box comes with 6 pre-programmed pills, or a laptop, Laptop is the best/easiest way but it is not necessary to have. The MSD box comes with the software to program it with a laptop.

Sounds good. I might have to try a 5.3 in a project later on.
