Re: South Carolina, Charleston Area?

I've been around for 10+ years...posted a time or two in the SE category...and now here. In Summerville, we take my car out now and then just riding around.

What's going on as of late?

How about a cruise in for dinner in North Chuck or S'ville?

BlueDevil, I'd be sick that day. Matter of fact I'm planning on being sick Wednesday or Thursday this week. LOL Maybe we could make S-ville the start point for a cruise to somewhere to eat or drink.

Re: South Carolina, Charleston Area?

Any chance you are going to the F Body Beach Bash October 11 & 12? I have a bone stock 1986 WS6 TA with the optional cross-laced wheels like the ones that were later used on the GTA. The car is original with 30 K actual miles and is a good 10 footer. The car is very photogenic. Lots of people confuse the car for a GTA, but of course true F-Body fans know the difference. If you are planning to come to Myrtle Beach that weekend you can take all of the pictures you like.

Wow, car is really nice and yeah that would be perfect.
Now I had ideals of (if paint was completed) to kinda make that my debut, but would only be able to do one of the two days.

I'll def keep in touch.

78 and Royle rd in ladson/Summerville. There are 3 decent junkyards there. Specifically Don's is one of them. I am not a fan of the place on 78, but the 2 on Royle Rd are good to me.

Re: South Carolina, Charleston Area?

for me, that's fine ATM, as I don't currently have a 3rd gen (might change that soonish)...

I need wiring harness parts, cooling fans, and a couple of other odds and ends for my '70 GMC.

For exhaust I suggest University Tire and Muffler. If you find a good mechanic, let me know cuz I have bad luck around here, lol.

Yep, 78 and Rivers. They did a great job on mine (fixing it) and for a great price. Friend of mine told me about them and how he did a pull up on the exhaust to show how strong it was!

Re: South Carolina, Charleston Area?

I checked out Don's this last weekend, they had a bunch of LT1 4th gens, I didn't notice whether or not they were 6 speed or not. I saw I think three 3rd gens, all pretty rough. and I saw lots of parts I need/want for my truck. depending on payday, I may go and do some harvesting...

I might have missed them, I wasn't looking for 3rd gen parts, mainly old truck parts. I'm going back this weekend for a suburban gas tank, and maybe a sending unit from a trailblazer.

Re: South Carolina, Charleston Area?

Anyone have a car trailer they would be willing to loan for about two weeks? I'm taking about 2 weeks off early next month, and I'd like to try and bring my Fiero up here so I can get back to work on it, and maybe drive it again.

Wow....you don't see too many Bowling ball caps anymore!
Mine are hiding in the attic with the wheels, too afraid something will happen to them.
I am planning to get some reproduction bowling *****, use them, and pack up the originals. The KITT people have developed a fiberglass replica that mounts with three of the five wheel studs. They sell for around 400.00 a set, but that is better then risking the loss of the originals. I plan to replace the original tires, freshen up the brakes, and change all of the soft rubber items so we can enjoy the car a little. That is what we did to the 86, and it can be driven anywhere anytime. The cars are a lot more fun that way. Neither car will ever see over 1K miles a year, and it will probably be more like 3-400 miles annually, but that is enough to keep the cars road ready and have some fun with them.

Re: South Carolina, Charleston Area?

hey everyone, I just wanted to chime in since it has been a while since I have been on here. Work has been keeping me busy. The third gen has been coming along pretty good but I think I'm going to go a different way with the engine now so I may have a pro flo fuel injection system up for sale if any one is looking.

I don't have mine in shape to drive and take pictures of, but I would love to see the wide body that you are doing. I have been wanting to do one myself but haven't really had the time to get out there and make one and I haven't seen any kits for our cars.

Re: South Carolina, Charleston Area?

Thought the heater core was leaking....wet carpet, dripping on the garage floor.....took it apart (broke the core tray, anyone have a spare???) Turns out the hose was leaking on the pipe. Cleaned it up and test ran it with the core laying on the strut tower. All good...just need that dang tray!
