Thats one city I've never been to in our great state. Heard its nice. I konw this isn't a tech thread, but I noticed you were running 1.6 ratio rockers on your car. How's the piston to valve clearance with the stock pistons ?

Yea mouton gas a nice track they got 150' a concrete now and just redone the entire track a year or two ago ... Called jakes drag way now ... If the motor mostly stock 1.6 rockers ain't gonna hurt ur v to piston clearance much .. Now my block has been decked .013 , flat top pistons , and .530lift at the valve with the 1.6's and trick flow 175 heads ... I did run the 1.6's on stock cam with no problems

I haven't heard anyone mention Lasiter in a long time. Thats not far from where I grew up. I went there like 10 years ago. It was in ok shape then. But my mother was goin there back in the mid 1960's. Its been there a long time. But Steele is only 10 minutes from my house. I can stand on my front porch and listen to them run

Maybe some of us local guys can get together and drive to the track when it gets warmer. sometimes theres some good cars, and sometimes its a bunch of rice rockets and crap. they have a lot of bikes run up there though.

Re: Alabama Area
you're in the shoals ain't you ?? it would be alittle out of your way to come down here. But for B'ham folks, it wouldn't be a problem. we used to come from hueytown to go up there.

Re: Alabama Area
Hey, gonna chime in on this Alabama thread.
Anybody know of a good machine shop in the Bham metro area? Specifically, I need to get a set of thirdgen rotors turned down to hubs for my LS1 brake upgrade. Don't feel like walking in somewhere and being told "$100 to do that" - too many shops in this highly populated area wanna charge outrageous prices for simple work. I could name an exhaust shop in Pelham in particular, but I won't....!
I'll drive up to north end of Jefferson county or to Shelby county somewhere for a good shop with honest folks.

We'll just got the car in dec. No real body rust 1992 rs 5.0 5spd sorta white. Got it for 1500 and it was running but leaky. Seemed like a good bed for the swap ether a l33 or ls1 found both for decent price.
