Yes.

It's real easy, Will was showing me how he did it on the old trans.
I may do it myself since I'm really strapped for cash with all the other things I need to buy. I'm pretty mechanically, so I can probably do it myself.

they're not that bad to rebuild. posistion means a lot. ive got my tranny tied to my workbench standing straight up right now, lol.

a good tip on finding tranny leaks is, clean it real good, then cover it in baby powder. the leak will turn pink. i found a missing o-ring like that last year.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

I have an engine lift, but no way to get it from here to there.

After the debacle of losing 3rd and 4th gear, when we pulled the pan off of my 700, there was the same gooey, metallic stuff stuck all over the magnet.

I do have an engine stand, if that helps, but my schedule for the next 2 weeks is completely insane. So if the stand helps, come n get it. Kinda the same for the hoist, except that I don't own it, so I would need it back here for whenever my buddy asks for it back.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

I appreciate the offer, but Will and I worked out a deal that will be really good. I'll be going over this saturday with my Monster Transmissions kit and transmission, then working on it with him. I'm hoping to get it done soon so that everything works out well and I can drive up to Ohio with no worries.

Yup. No issues now. Gonna upgrade to LS1 fans like you did still, I wanna keep it cool in traffic.

Did you say you still had your GTA wheels? Do they have rubber on them? You mind if I borrowed them for like a week to see if I like them on my car?

I upgraded to LS1 fans as well. Do wish I had installed them better though. Zip Ties do not compliment the car at all. Will probably end up buying a set of aftermarket fans when I buy a new radiator.

The only thing I will say about the kit (because it's the same one I have) it does not come with a decent 2-4 band or a new servo. Buy a vette servo and the superior 4th gear kit. As well as a good 2-4 band. Coupled with a nice shift kit should make that thing scream

Finally drove the car somewhere further away. Was nice, it is nowhere near as comfy as my truck though. Ducky, need that a/c compressor man!

Also driving it around made me remember how embarassing it is to be a v6. People expect loud deep rumble and then....ugh!

Man, your car looks so good. Love the color.

Also, I ordered my transmission rebuild kit today from Monster Transmission. Went to verify my order and saw that they're in Brooksville. So that means I can drive up there and pick it up tomorrow.

They made a huge difference for me. Yup still got my golds but nothing on them and they are tucked away in storage. Wouldn't do you any good. What made you wanna put those on?

I've always wondered what my car would look like with GTAs. I'm wanting to change up my wheel combo, I've been driving the car as you saw it for 4 years now.

What's up fellow Floridians! I was skimming through several different "issues" I'm working on and came across this cool simi-local thread (I'm about 3 hrs away from ya'll.. Finally turned my bird over for the first time in a year and a half Sat. On the hunt for a local tuner on my coast.. no luck. I think I'm the only tpi guy in the St. Lucie county area, lol. Got my PS pulley stuck on the PS shaft Sunday, took a half a day off work today to mess with it, just got it off, so damn hot out today I'm justifying reading up on other things to not go back outside, lmao.

Welcome! Finding someone to tune tpi isn't easy. Many people do mail order tunes or just end up having to learn themselves.

Tampa was voted the sweatiest city in America. I hear ya on not wanting to work out there.

I'd love it but I know I can't afford what you want for it lol. Also be careful of monster in brooksville the owner is an *** and they will cut corners anyway shape and form they possibly can. They will also try and talk you into as much stuff as possible. My friend worked there and I heard horror stories.

There torque converters are also junk. I would look else where for one the rebuild kits aren't bad but the converters are garbage. Go see bullfrog performance they are awesome or ae in new port richey but the guys at bullfrog are better at explaing stuff

Thanks for the tip. I got my ordered canceled at Monster, so I'll look around at some other places. My neighbord also reccomended Bullfrog. He has a nice 383 that was built by them and it sound sweet.

Is there any other place that you'd reccomend getting a good rebuild kit for a 700r4 from?

Decided to just get a B&M rebuild kit from Summit. Was cheaper, so I got a corvette servo and a thick sun shell with my money left over. Also got it next day air'd to my house, all for cheaper than the Monster kit and I don't have to drive to get it.

I checked them out first because Will told me they were good, but it's just more than I want to put into this transmission. I only need it to drive up to Ohio, so I don't need to make a huge power handler. I will be putting in a 4L80E to handle big power once I get situated in Ohio.

So, 84lsx, are you still planning to go to Will's on Sat?. I get off of work at 7am, and now I don't have to go back in till Monday.
Depending on the time of day, if you all are getting together, I'd like to come out, meet ya, and say Hi to Mr Will.
Also, ducky, if you are going, I wanna see that dern car of yours in person, I think it only exists in pics and youtube!

Lol, I was gonna take the 4Runner out, but if you're coming the Camaro can make a special appearance. Maybe if we Wills car works we can actually get some photos.

Also, ducky, if you are going, I wanna see that dern car of yours in person, I think it only exists in pics and youtube!
Yeah I will be, come on out. Drink all the beer that Will offers to me,

i was really happy with the fit & quality of the jeg's subframe connecters. they bolt-in, then you can weld in. i also added a few gussets to the floor pan & stitch welded the pinch welds. big difference in rigidity. T-tops never squeeked again.

Have been eye-balling the Jegs subframe connectors. May just go with that.

Not going. Don't get out until 6:30-7pm from work. Then I'm watching fireworks with the wife and daughter. Drinking my share of beer today though. Well, I tried to anyway. Hate when I run out before I feel like quitting!

Anyone familiar with installing an adjustable torque arm and cross member? Just got mine from Spohn. Putting it in isn't the problem but looking up how to do the pinion angle looks like I'll be messing with it all day. Too many different variables and ways to do it, it seems.

His main problem is the valve seals being completely worn out which is clogging up the spark plugs. Should have taken a picture to show how bad the issue actually is

I haven't gotten a gauge on for fuel pressure yet, carb runs the car a tad rich when we tuned it some. Timing is at 34* at full advance. The car runs fine on temps now, its boiled down to a airflow issue. The real issue with the motor now is the heads are so bad they kill plugs within 100 miles.

I think I posted one like 5 or 6 pages back. Its so bad lol.

LS swap won't be too bad, few months and she'll be back at it.

Tally up the cost of the Ls swap. I intend on doing it as well.

I'm already expecting $3000 or more since I'm going T56, and I'm planning on doing braided hoses among other addons that I just want.

I dunno, my desire for a Land Cruiser to go overlanding with has become greater than my desire to continue on with the Camaro. I like the car, but even with the SBC, its the same song and dance. It always has to be fixed, never driven.
