Tuner in Panhandle?

Does anyone know of a good reliable tuner in the Florida Panhandle area?
I have a 90 Trans Am GTA, that needs a tune I'd like to get it running nicely first before I experiment too much with tuning it myself.

Not to difficult to do a basic tune, sometimes it's even better to do yourself, first time always takes a bit longer till you figure out the tricks... Over time you'll master it.. The Panhandle is a big patch of map,,, Your General Location might help... I'm in the Destin area.. Run a few tanks of Chevron Premium thru it, May just clear itself up...

Re: Tuner in Panhandle?

I live in Crestview, and time is not on my side. My engine is torn apart seeing if there is any damage to it. It was making a crazy knocking noise and wouldnt start. So we decided to open her up and make sure nothing was busted. The guy who owned her before me ( i just recently bought the car) had been running it how he got it.. which was right after a supercharger was pulled off it and i doubt that the guy put the tune back to stock. Almost everything on this engine is aftermarket and i have a lot of things not on my side, i dont have time to invest right now learning what setting does what on the tuning. I have overseas PCS orders and i bought the car so id have a cheap car so i could sell my other 2 cars because i cant take them with me. So id rather be able to drive the car sooner and work off a running vehicle than pay 300 for tuning hardware and spend a month on learning everything. if i had the time then yea i would do it myself.

Re: Tuner in Panhandle?

Is it a carb, tpi , tbi? How far is the engine torn down? Hobby Shop at Eglin maybe... Sorry I can't recommend anyone around here really.. only been here a short while myself and do my own repairs... I did have the Chevy dealer in Crestview do my alignment recently and they do still have the old equipment to stock tune our cars.. They still maintain a ladies third gen she bought from them new, as so I'm told... Are you looking to burn a chip for it? Definitely can't help there... Crazy Knocking Noise is never good... Hopefully you find something simple... Craigslist has plenty of cheap donor engines if in a pinch.. Putting one in a spare car now myself.. Maybe someone else from the area will chime in with more local knowledge..

Re: Tuner in Panhandle?

Only person I know of in crestview that does (or did) tuning was Johnny Adams at Adams automotive. He's off of HWY 90 going toward Baker. He's right next to SNL Paint and Body. I don't know if he has the stuff to tune/burn chips for our cars, but at one time he offered dyno and tuning services. I can't really give any recommendation past that though.

My car runs a custom burn/chip but I had mine done by a friend who doesn't offer up his services to people he doesn't know.

Good luck man.
