It should be raining on Friday. Also I'm scared of my car because of all the work I did on it I might have done some of it wrong, thats why I'm scared... And the rockers are loud. Anyone know if the rockers should be loud if they are on new lifters??
Also lets plan it weeks ahead so people can set time aside for it other than people saying "Oh this Friday I got plans already..."

Are your rockers the adjustable type? if so all you might need to do is adjust them. The passenger's side rocker nearest to the firewall is ticking like a time bomb right now on my car. I haven't gotten around to adjusting it and part of the reason is all the tubes, wires and what not that I have t deal with !
How does mid febuary sound for the "big one"? there is still plenty of time to plan this thing 'til then....just an idea!

The Honda Blowby is a technique used when someone passes you, you wait for them to start to slow down, then you mash your gas, so by the time they realize what you're doing they have no chance in hell to catch up. A red 'bird blew past me on Grant last night.

I see! That red camaro must of been you huh? I never heard of that technique before. On my way to work on the evenings, I usually take fairview rd right next to the freeway and notice quite a few people that like to pass me up at about 50mph; I'm gonna try this out next time someone passes me up in their big bad truck or rice popper; except for those new tundras, I hear they come with 340 HP stock!

Re: **Tucson 3rd Gen Gathering: Sign up here**
Its been a while but good thing I decided to stop by today ! My car has been in the shop getting a engine rebuild so I should be getting it back today or tomorrow; I took it to George's Cylinder Heads on Euclid off of 22nd St. My engine looked clean the last time I saw it. Anyone know if this place is reputable?? I can make it to the gathering (I swear really this time!!) thats coming up and bring the sodas but I work saturdays and go in at 11p.m. so at what time was this thing gonna happen?, how does Reid park sound? I live in the downtown/south tucson area and dont know of any other parks except the ones around this area which are ghetto so any other suggestions for a park would be cool!
Hey Scaryone were you by any chance in a shopping center in the grant and silverbell area this passed tuesday?? I ate at wingstop and when I left I noticed a red iroc and dude going thru the trunk !

Alright a big meeting is too soon for this weekend. I say may 17 at reid park is far enough away that people can plan. How does that sound?
I'm going to post a reminder post on the south west board to see if we can get more people looking at this.
Again what do you guys think about may 17?

Thats a little too far for me until I get my car running like a champ. I'm almost on the road though. I finally found a real '89 GTA engine harness which I purchased off of a member on these boards; finally recieved it on my birthday a couple of days ago (what a coincidence lol ) and they will be installed next week along with my new ecm, then I'm good to go. Take it e z guys.

Re: **Tucson 3rd Gen Gathering: Sign up here**
Update: The harness and ECM aren't in the car yet believe it or not and the reason bieng that I was waiting for the rest of my convoluted tubing to arrive to finish replacing the dry black tubing thats on it now. As soon as I recieved the tubing this morning, I immediately got to instaling the rest of it on the harness so everything is ready to go in . I'm going to have my buddy install everything hopefully tomorrow if not the day after. Almost back on the road guys and I still haven't forgotten about the gathering.

Re: **Tucson 3rd Gen Gathering: Sign up here**
FINALLY !!! My GTA is back on the streets of Tucson after a long hard process of getting a replacement title (with a freshly rebuilt L98) . I contacted a company in Maine via the internet that specializes in lost car titles. I didn't even bother doing it myself since when I lost it, it still had the original owners name and not mine so I knew that was going to be a hassle. I learned from my mistake though . The car had been sitting almost a year and a half because of this and just yesterday I got my title. Today after fixing a small brake light problem which was just a missing fuse, I got back in the driver's seat and DAMN did it feel good . You guys take it easy and I'm still up for that gathering some day.

Re: **Tucson 3rd Gen Gathering: Sign up here**
hey phoenix, funny timing, i just got my bird back up and running. and i think my prelude got jealous because about 20 minutes after i started her up and took her for the test drive both of my rotors went out, pads broke and the calipers got shot on the prelude, XD great timing right? sigh its been to long, we need to actually get something going sometime instead of empty promises. found out that my transmission issue is a vacuum and started working after a can and a half of sea foam. im trying to find someone that knows the electrical and vacuum line diagrams to tell me what some things are as i cant find the right diagram anywhere. well, hit me up sometime. ^_^ V

still alive.
@s4l usually people go to the new in and out on Broadway & Kolb fri/sat night. but usually its just some rice burners. not really too sure anymore if there is big gatherings, everything kind of died when the economy crashed.
im always willing to meet up although my birds dead again.

Re: **Tucson 3rd Gen Gathering: Sign up here**
Alive & well ! I'd still want to meet up with a few third genners here in the city but won't be for a while. Today I just finished putting on a used Driver's side fender and rocker gfx on my GTA (minor fender bender ). It was my first time and was sorta pita! I'll have to replace the passenger's side as well not to mention the front bumper cover. It looks like a mutt now with the different colored body panels lol! I'm eventually going to get it painted but being jobless at the moment isn't helping. Anyone know of any jobs hiring here in Tucson? lol. Whats wrong with your bird saadin?

Yeah I'd love to meet some of you guys before I PCS to Texas. I'll keep posting up here when I get this car running.. hopefully it's Friday or Saturday. How old are y'all?
Edit: saadin, are the ricers very respectable or are they the "typical high school-wanna be tuner" rice?

Re: **Tucson 3rd Gen Gathering: Sign up here**
@phoenix - ouch fender benders suck, sorry to hear that. oh you know the usual, engine overheated, fried the electrical system, broke the turn signal switch, killed the carb. it would have been fixed by now but i bought a 67 mustang and restored it, had to get out of the 3rd gen funk hehe.
@ s4l - a little bit of both, kind of like any group, you have the people who respect all cars or the people who think that their car is the best because they put a fartcan on the back and bought $19.99 neons from autozone to look like fast and the furious XD. but both of the groups stare in awe when you pull up with a 600hp car with straight back exhausts XD

A '67 stang? Lucky dude! Is Valencia pretty empty at night by the airport? I need a place to open up this V6 and see what it can do. Way too many 5-0 and border patrol down here.

valencia is horrible but i know a street you can open up to 120 on thats pretty straight and no hills :P and is easy to detect cops (they only sit at 3 places and you can do a scout run to look for them :P

That sucks Saadin, it doesn't seem like it'll take much to get her back on the road! I guess the worst of it all is the fried electrical system. Yeah I pretty much got all the panels for my car except for the 91-92 wing, @ $500 they're pretty damn expensive unless I can find a good used one.
I'm 26, what did you end up getting s4l a camaro or firebird?
