My 83 T/A lives again!!!
So i have been a member on this board for 3 years and have never posted anything. A little on the car. I got it when i was 16 about 5 years ago and rebuilt the 305 h.o. Ran it for 3 years and spun a rod bearing. After that it sat in my parents back yard and had just been sitting there for the past 2 years. i finally got on my feet and started to rebuild a new 350 to drop in it!! i am super excited about it and felt it was time to make my first post and start gettin a lil active on the board! oh and here are a few pics of the car!! thanks for your time!!!!

Where in Tempe are you? I might have some time tomorrow to swing by and see what we can find about her to get her running.

Re: My 83 T/A lives again!!!
dont use that timing cover
or get rid of the timing tab on it that is not for a 350
id guess it is off of your 305?????
i made this mistake in the past your timing will be way off
ask me why i know
id like to save your new bearings too

The timing tab will be fine on that timing cover as long as the cranke is a 2 piece rear main seal. That's the same one I used on my 350 from an 82 Caprice. You will be fine depending on the engine itself.

Would be easier to go to Autozone or Checker and get a chrome timing cover especially if you have a new tab already.
