Re: Arizona Roll Call!

WOW Alex that was definitely a stupid moment for me thought I looked at that. I guess we all have our moments lol. Would you be willing to come a little more west to meet up or do you already have others you are meeting on 32nd st?

i don't really know where we could meet over west, or even in phoenix either, it took me about 10min to find that parking lot

My father in law works at a auto shop off of 7th st and virginia it is just south of thomas on the west side of the road. If more people could meet there would that be ok with you? Firehawk would you be able to meet there?

Re: Arizona Roll Call!

I know that's why I tried to get a roll call a couple days ago but no one responded. Well its in 2 days we will see if anyone replys before friday night then we can make a decision. No offense but if there isnt going to be a few people at the 32nd meet up spot it wouldnt be worth it for me to drive that far like firehawk said.

Re: Arizona Roll Call!

I'm going to meet up at the 32nd Street, but not in the Formula ... I didn't have time to get the shaking/wobble issue resolve and I wont have time to take it to this week. its not safe to carry a 1 yr old in it .

So who ever goes to the 32nd location, I will be there in the FJ. Its no F-Body. But I wanted to meet and check out some members rides.

SO unless im not allowed to hang out because Im not going to be in the formula let me know now or for ever hold your peace.

On a side note, I was telling my co worker about the cruise and did a quick google search and lookie lookie at what came up ... Wondering if this is a members

I looked at my schedule at work, and will be unable to attend (It will just be to hard getting off of work after 6AM). However, if you are in the Tucson area there is a show at the RideNow on 22nd st. I will be there around noon.

Re: Arizona Roll Call!

Well i got there around 11:30 and found a parking spot on the south side of the lot. then i started looking for everyone else. took me until 3:30 to find 83ZZZ28 because he was on the NORTH side. but then as soon as i took my car on the cruise I found most of you. the only cars i could put with names were firehawk and deancrew :P although i also saw about 3 camaros and a firebird that i couldn't put a name to. but then the best part came. i get off the freeway on my way home and pull into a gas station and i hear this extremely loud THUNK! and then again, THUNK! so I nursed my car the rest of the 10 miles home without destroying whatever was causing the thunk every time I clutched. turns out one of my U-Joints is about to fail. that's just one of thoes noises you can't file away under "it's an old car"

Re: Arizona Roll Call!

I took a cruise early like around 11am, it was already getting crkn'. At the time I was in the fj but just went up and down. I picked up the formula at around 4pm. When I get back to the event it was full inside. I meet up with some Friends at the BK parking lot. Well about 15 mins in after talking with some friends and checking out the cars going up and down, who do I see?? Alex Bebb!! :DI tried to take a flick of the car, but my phone was dead (btw nice car). So I decided to head to the parking lot and check out the cars. I got to meet 89' Firehawk (I was the one you were talking to before you left your car alone unattended). I walked some more and saw 83ZZZ28' car. I too saw a few other camaro a and firebirds that I could not recognize. But here are a few pics I took. Enjoy!

Re: Arizona Roll Call!

so many white gen 3's... and I walked through the entire lot and only saw 2 gen 3's, and yet theres a pic with dean and firehawk right next to each other! WTF!?!?!? (but to be fair i left just after 5. and I'm glad I did. might have been stuck in phoenix) but they really need to organize the rows into make or something, and not just say open parking >_>

You know what mula, I thought I saw a firebird in the parking lot of that BK :P I should have stopped by, but not everyone with a third gen is on the forums, so it would have been weird if you weren't. and thanks for the complement on the car

meh, all i saw in the picture was a red hood :P and now that I think about it I do remember you passing me :P a lot of people do that >_>

and dang, that's way over in Glendale... the show in phoenix was a bit on the far side for me :P

and I Fixed my car :P it wasn't my U-Joint, it was the brace from the rear end to the transmission, the bolt that clamps it to the transmission came out, so the thump was it smashing into the bottom of my floor

but its fixed and my car is back to normal XD

Re: Arizona Roll Call!

Glad to hear your car is fixed Alex. As far as Saturday what is the time and price for the show? I have a few things going on but I may manage to go. I've been to a show out in west gate about 4 years ago. This may be the same people putting it together.

What time are you guys showing up? My car would be the ugly duckling of the group ... And I'm okay with that :-)

89' Firehawk what's the story behind your car? I was under the impression that the firehawks were born in 91'. But then at the show I seen your car was #25. Please fill me in with some knowledge! Your cars stance is just right, very clean car. Definite car show quality. I'm glad I got so see it in person.

Re: Arizona Roll Call!

19th is also the AZFBA cruise through the twisties to Jerome. If anyone wants to be out driving instead of sitting in a parking lot. I'll probably have the IROC vert out for this one.

What: Cruise to Jerome, AZ

When: October 19, 2013

Eastside meetup spot:
8:30am - AZ mills parking lot, southwest corner, just north of Baseline, just east of I-10. Depart for westside at 9:00am.

Westside meet-up spot:
9:30am - Home Depot parking lot on southwest corner of Grand Ave and Bell Rd. Depart for cruise at 10:00am

Tentative cruise route:
The Eastside folks will leave AZ mills mall at 9:00am, and head out to the Home Depot off of Grand and Bell to meet up at the Westside meet-up spot. We will all depart from there at 10:00am, and head out on Grand toward Wickenburg. We will then take a right on the US93/SR89 North, and make another right onto SR89 North taking that up Yarnell Hill, thru Yarnell, and on to Prescott. We will continue on the SR89 North through Prescott passing Watson lake and the granite Wells area. Then we will make a right onto SR89A East and take that to Jerome then down the hill to Cottonwood. In Cottonwood we will take the SR260 south out of town and then hook onto the I-17 south coming back into town.

That's cool.... and i've done this cruz/tour before in my 4th gen with the azlsx krew........ and i'm good with a park and show.. this way it's one stop shopping for everyone...... besides... i think a 3rd gen cruz/tour would be a little cooler to see.... a lot less of them on the road then 4th gens and 5th gens.......

Thanks for the comps on my ride bro...

and i'll get with ya on the info on my hawk too....

We just finished a 5600 mile roadtrip with a couple stops for racing along the way in our GTA. It was surprising how many people walked up to us at gas stations and restaurants to ask about the car. So, yeah, a 3rd gen cruise would be fun. Even more fun would be to see more people bring their cars out to events that are more than just car shows and see them getting driven.

But the hard driving might explain why I'm getting ready to do engine #4 into the GTA over Christmas and replace the 383 with a LS1.

You must have missed the spring Goodguys All American day then. We had the GTA on track for that one. We also run it at quite a few of the local SCCA events, in the American StreetCar Series events, Super Chevy Shows, and a few other random road race and autox events.

If you want to see some shots of it in action, go to

https://www.facebook.com/DragonladyGta

I've got a couple videos from past events up and more than a couple photos. I need to shrink the size of the video from Tail of the Dragon so it can get uploaded to the page.

They only run the autoX from 8AM until Noon on SuperSunday.
It filled fairly early at the spring show so if you want to play I suggest you get there early as space is limited.
It's the only autoX I've ever did that didn't require a helmet.
You'll be competing against late model corvettes and whatever else shows up, hope you bring your A game.

Arizona Corvette Enthusiasts it having a autocross event 11/09 at the Bondurant lot at Firebird ( Or Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park, or whatever they're calling it now).
Info here:
Kinda pricey but you get a lot of seat time for the money(and don't have to **** cones). It was this event that got a bunch of us hooked.
http://www.arizonacorvetteenthusiast...howtopic=24438

I'm still waiting for Super Chevy to post the 2014 schedule it would be nice to see Phoenix or Vegas back on the list.

AZsolo will be having it's driver's school Dec 7th (with normal SCCA event the 8th). It's a great place to learn and get exposure to autocrossing if you haven't done it before.
Details will be posted here:
http://www.azsolo.com/forums/index.php?showforum=1

As far as a 3rd gen cruise, I'd love to see it, however based on the number of people that have broken cars and money issues to the point of just being able to buy gas, I highly doubt I'll ever see such a thing.

Re: Arizona Roll Call!

wow, i had a whole huge reply ready to go, but when i hit post my log in time expired..... lets try that again shell we..... >_>

----------:list of doom:----------
http://www.cruisinarizona.com/carshows.html

= 8th Annual Kool Fm Classic Car Show = Zehring brother's Car Rally (same day, closer, but most likely smaller)

= Thorobred Thunder = Priceless Primetime = Rails, Rods and Steel Wheels = Kustom Karz for K-9'z and Katz Kar Show (come on, 4 in the same day and there all on my side of the world? geez this will be hard to choose)

= Five-O Car Show = 10th Annual Car and Motorcycle Show

= Wildcats Poker Run

= C.O.P.'s Classics & Customs Car Show

i just vomited out that list because those are the ones i can see myself doing, but i haven't planned for them or found the entrance fee yet :P

and on a side note, HOLY **** there are a lot of car shows in town, if anyone would have told me that there were that many car shows going on over a 2 month period in arizona, I would have said you were the biggest lair ever, because nothing cool ever happens in phoenix (see the joke i did there... oh nevermind)

and on another side note, I liked wild horse pass motor sports park on Facebook and they uploaded an album from last weekend and in it is 83zzz28 and what looks to be another white gen 3.. (cant tell if its just 83zzz from a different angle or not)

Re: Arizona Roll Call!

OK just caught up on all the reading and don't know if I can make it this Saturday to westgate because I am helping my parents move but maybe after we will see how it goes. I am all for sitting in parking lot or driving anytime I can get out. My car has bad valve seals right now so I am trying to take it a little easy but whatever. I have the seals a cam and some headers sitting in the garage just waiting for me to take it apart and slap them on. I just want to drive my car though lol just when I start it and it smokes its a little embarrassing. Hopefully I can get away Saturday and see whoever is at westgate.

you must not have heard my breaks squealing for the entire cruise :P and you can show off your engine, if i open my hood all you can see is tubes, wires and hoses and a bit of one of the valve covers :P i hate everything about my engine and what the government did to it (OBD1 computer controlled carburetor, which explains why i only get about 200HP from my 350.. a regular 350 v8 from the same year as mine has about 290

so dont worry about it :P

I'm over here in AZ too in West Phoenix! I have my 1991 Firebird V6. Its not the most exciting car in the world (especially if you saw it go open-spinner at the drag strip last week), but I'm trying to bring it back to a stock-ish state.
