Arizona Roll Call!
Ladies and gents its about that time for the Cruise on Central!!
I want to use this event as an opportunity to meet all the Arizona thirdgeners. It would be nice to meet those of you that arent really active on here or just lurk lol. Our board has been really dead for a while now, everyone who is still out there chime in, and let us know you are still out there. Maybe post some pics of your car. Im hoping alot of you can make it to the cruise this year.
Ill start,
My name is Alex i live on the west side I have a 1991 RS i probably know a good amount of you because i sell Thirdgen parts here and there.
EDIT: CRUISE ON CENTRAL WILL BE ON
4/13/2013

I'd be down to meet up sometime, although I couldn't make 4/13. I got a baby due in Apr, but won't be available much until June.

I am stuck in CA at the moment, I don't think that I can make it by the 13. By the way, did you ever put on those headers that I sold you?

Don't know if I'll head down to Central Cruise or not. It's usually such a cluster that I either avoid it completely or show up for a lap or two on the street and then leave. That and there's racing to do on the 14th so I might be in a maintenance cycle on the 13th.
I'm Tom, live in the West Valley and own a few 3rd gens. 82 Z28, 88 GTA, 90 IROC vert, 92 RS right now. The 88 and the 92 are heavily modified. The 82 and the 90 are almost completely stock.

I'm Nick and I live out in west Phoenix (a few miles from the Cardinals Stadium).
I've got an 85' bird a 92' bird and an 01' Z28.
My 85 is currently receiving most of the parts that were in the 92, but my 01' is my daily driver.

Re: Arizona Roll Call!
Bummer that I missed the cruise, but I'm having some issues with my IROC anyway.
Some of you know me, I'm Jason and have a few thirdgens.
Alex, get collector car insurance. Cheaper, and as long as it's not your daily driver, youre covered. Did you ever get the impala fixed?
Also, been working with a machinist lately and may be developing some billet aluminum emblems (Z-28, GTA badges for the dash and ground effects, fender and such.) Look for a group buy and some feelers from me in the very near future. Also may be developing some billet hood hinges around this time next year.
Got some other billet parts in the works (Depending on interest.) such as a set of billet IROC hood vents that can be left raw, polished or painted black to look just like the factory pieces. Might be very expensive, though.
Jason.

The hinges are going to be a later project if all goes well with the emblems and other small parts. Just gotta get some other things out of the way first.
I have a feeling the hinges are going to be a little pricy, but very cool! (and most importantly, no binding when the hood is lifted!

Re: Arizona Roll Call!
when i have time and money. mostly money. I was happy to get the a/c & hvac controls wiring harness off here and wire that back into the harness. I will say I was hoping to have the a/c box (inside) installed and the a/c ducts and lower dash installed before summer hit. oh well. interior is done minus redoing the headliner, a/c & dash i just mentioned, and drive side door lock mechanism. Not sure im missing a part or just installing it wrong. besides that, just going to save up for now. either going to go for the cam and power steering pump, prob some porting on the HSR as well, first, or finish up the suspension with new struts and A-Arms, wheels/tires and brakes.

Posted these the other day in a different thread...
The GTA on the course at El Toro in Irvine in Feb.
And one of the 92 sitting in the driveway.
and a little engine bay ****
There are clean cars out there. You just have to be in the right part of town to find them. Once the GTA comes out of paint, I expect she'll be driving it a lot.

Re: Arizona Roll Call!
And the winter cruises have to get fit in around track day schedules and another motor swap so I will commit to nothing at this point because that LS will go into the GTA this year if I can find a few weekends where the car or I won't be tied up with other activities.

I'm Mike and I live in Litchfield Park. I have owned several Camaro's over the years: 2-'67's, a '78, an '86, '89, '91, '96, and a '97. I currently own a '91 1LE. It has been torn apart for years now but I hope to get it on the road this winter. Everything mechanical has been done including a 377 ci stroker engine, T56 swap, Baer brakes with 4th gen booster and master, Koni struts and shocks, and all new front end parts.

Re: Arizona Roll Call!
Sounds good. I'm at Litchfield and Bethany Home. When things slow down for me at work I plan on spending more time on the car. If some people are interested I would be willing to host a BBQ/wrench party when the weather cools off a bit. I'm going to disassemble the front suspension again to install weight jacks. Most of the big stuff is done on my car (tubular K-member and A-arms, engine and trans installed) but I still have all of the little stuff to do (plumbing brakes, engine wiring, cut shifter hole, exhaust, etc.).

Ya I have been looking for louvered one for a while. I also like the 4th gen SS hood that comes to a point in a way at front of hood the low rise one. I car much for the one that is high in the center.

Re: Arizona Roll Call!
But I'll be honest, I've never really liked the WS6 style hood on a 3rd gen. Just my opinion, but they just don't look right.
If you go with the SS style, be prepared to spend money for a good one and then more money to have it cleaned up to fit correctly. GM's build quality on these cars was never the best when they were new so there is enough variation even in cars that have never been in accidents that it's almost a guarantee any aftermarket fiberglass will need some work to get it to fit right.

I agree about the WS6 hood doesn't look right. The fitting all painting and extra work just isn't worth it right now.

Mr. 305 I have been going to the cruise down central since 2000 (still in HS at the time). I don't recall seeing your car, then again I don't recall half the things I eat for lunch LOL. I would love to meet any one that has the love for 3rd gens. I currently live in Central PHX.
