Reproduction upper armrest trim pieces

Hey SoCal brothers (and sisters),

I've always wanted to create an awesome car product, and I've finally done it. You know those arm rest trim pieces that are broken on 99% of thirdgens? Well, I've recreated them in ABS plastic.

Straight off the 3D printer - $15 shipped / set
Sanded, primed, and color matched - $35 shipped / set

I am sanding them down with 100# and 220# to remove the 3D printing texture, then priming/sanding twice. Finishing them off with 3 coats of Camel interior paint or Satin black (your choice).

I have these in stock and ready to ship out if you are wanting a set!

Dave

Awesome.
I was just reading an article today about how photocopiers changed society and the new 3-d printers, in the Smithsonian magazine.
The first thing I thought of was all those trim pieces that you can never find in the junkyard anymore!

I didn't even know my car was missing this.

Are you referring to the black piece on the top of the door panel? I need some for my 15th anniversary. Wonder if its the same as the later model panel like you have pictured.

Re: Reproduction upper armrest trim pieces

How did you get the texture on it?
I guess when you sand off the printing lines, you'd get a smooth finish.

Awwwww, dammit... I thought he was printing the big black trim cover from the pic.
Now I realize that this is about the end piece of the arm rest trim.

So... never mind

I would be interested in 2 sets of these. Can you do them in the dove gray/ light gray also?

Thanks for letting everyone know you can make these.

Kim.
