On Facebook with the NorCal guys I was talking about the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. That gives people an extra day to rest. Not everyone can make it on that day though, so we're open to date suggestions.
Yes it would be a one day thing, leaving early Saturday morning. We could stop at a motel on the way back if needed, and come home Sunday morning.

I would also vote to avoid a holiday weekend if possible. More cars on the road = more chances for incidents.

I would like to come to this. I won't have my Z28 running by then but would love to come join in and learn and drool! LOL

I heard back from Hearst Castle, they said to avoid Memorial Day, and try for earlier in May.
One of the NorCal guys has his birthday on April 30th, and mine is May 2nd, so how does Saturday April 29th work for the people here?
We would meet and leave Don's shop at 6am, with a 5 hour trip we should there around 11am. Meet and greet the NorCal and CenCal folks, have lunch, and then tour the place for the next few hours.

Who's definitely in on the 29th?

I'll check the calendar and with the wife, but initially the date sounds good for us!
Where were you thinking about lunch? Pismo is about 45 min south but has some great food.

The event is up at Facebook:

If you don't have Facebook, let me know here and I will add you to the list.
It will be Saturday April 29th.
Lunch is to be determined, but probably something either at the Castle, or in the area.

Definitely interested in going, I'm going to put my request for the day off now so I can go. I miss going on 3rd gen cruises.

The wife and I are both in (marked it on Facebook.)
Hoping we'll have both of our rides in attendance.

Looks like we'll be attending with a single ride (the 89.) The 88 is still being dealt with. Waiting on replacement oil cooler lines from Hawks; the UPS shipping from them takes forever (not their fault or anything, it's just geographical.)

Toured it many times. The night tour, with actors role playing inside was the best, IMO.

I am sorry, but I am unable to make it. My wife's brother had a heart attack Thursday morning, and she is with him now. He is ok but is in the ICU. I will need to stay close to take care of our cats and the house while she is away (90 miles away). Family comes first.
The event is still on, as there are several people from SoCal and NorCal still going. I hope you all have fun and take lots of pictures.

We are sadly also out. I'll be at the pick-a-part Saturday as my daughter ran over a curb and nailed a bush in her Camry.

Sorry about your brother-in-law's hart attack, I wish him a speedy recovery. Are we still meeting at Don's shop?

Please take pics and post some. I live in Santa Maria and was excited that yall were meeting up at Hearst Castle. It prompt me to get some work done on my car prior to the meet. My 92 RS is in the shop getting rust repair, paint and a new windshield. I was hoping to get it back by today but the rust repair was more than expected so I should get it back Tuesday/Wednesday of next week. Maybe next time......

Sorry for the long delay in posting a picture, I was in a lot of pain that day so I didn't take many pictures.
Wish we had more 3rd gens show up but it was nice to meet the people that did make it.

Leo037 wished I could have made it. I put my car in the shop 3 weeks ago hoping to have a new windshield and fresh paint for the meet but its still in the shop. I am supposed to get it tomorrow. Here is a pic of it Friday morning as I was stalking the shop. I see quite a few 3rd gens around here so I'm shocked there weren't more especially from the central coast.
