UMI Performance Parts.

Hey Everyone,

Just got done ordering some Lower Control Arm Relocation Brackets " Bolt On " form UMI Performance. At The Moment there having a 15% off disscount going on.

On monday I'll be ordering the Lower Control Arms and after that I'll be ordering me a Wonder bar, .

Are these hard to bolt on by any chance? Any tips would be appreciated.

Marry X-Mas To All!

Thanks. Tony.

Re: UMI Performance Parts.

They are not hard to install.

I would wait and install the RLCAs and the LCAs at the same time.

The wonder bar should only take about 5 minutes to install. The rest might take 30 minutes, depending on how well your rearend wants to line back up. IMO it makes it alot easier to do both sides at once, dont try one side at a time, it can cause binding.

Re: UMI Performance Parts.

It took me about 15 miuntes to do the wonderbar. It took me about 1 day and a half to do the panhard bar and lower control arms. The damn bolts were rusted in and I broke a socket. Now that all the suspension stuff is new including bolts, I can do it all in no time.

Re: UMI Performance Parts.

Hey Everyone,

I finally go to install my Lower Control Arm's and Relocating Bracket's today. It was heck of a easy install. I had all the proper tools at work including tons of lifts since I do work at a dealer anyway none of the bolts were hard to take of at all did all of them with renches but no air tools only on the bolt to take of the shock.

I followed the instructions just the way it said on the paper torque all the bolts to 72flbs.

I took the car for a dive and I notice a big difference in turns then before. I did some test launches and I am really happy with these products no more wheel hop or anything like that can imagine how 2 items could help out a lot.

Still waiting for the wonder bar since its on back order but while I wait im gonna go ahead and install my subframe connectors as well hopefully that helps out a bunch.

Thanks. Tony.

PS. UMI Sales how come I did not get any stickers?

Re: UMI Performance Parts.

i got so much UMI stuff on my car they should pay me to put the stickers on and promote there products lol.

ive got there LCA relocation brackets.
rod ended panhard bar
double rod ended offset LCAs

was it hard for u to tighten the jam nuts on the LCAs? i cant seem to get enough room with an open end wrench to get them really tight. or are they not supposed to be that tight? i mean i could barely tighten them due to the limited space in the LCARBS and stock frame mounts.

No UMI STB yet? Your slacking!

I couldn't get a wrench on some either, so had to get the length right, pull he mounting bolt from that end, tighten the jam nut, them mount it back in pace on the chassis (mainly the PHB). To do the LCA jam nut on the axle end, I think I had to reach it from above, not from below, while the wheel was off.

Well here at the shop I could get my hands on tools lifts and everything so for me it was real easy and I torque all the bolts to 72flbs just like the instructions stated.

Hello Tony
You don't have to take them off! It is just easier to get to the bolts with certain tools. We have experienced using a bigger creasant wrench. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
Thanks

No, you don't HAVE to. It just made it easier to reach the jam nut & mine were already off anyways, to mod my inner fenderwell for my 7"bs 11" wheels & the 315 tires to fit, besides getting the tubular LCAs with the offset mounting bushings.

yea i got the offset ones as well but i didnt even need them really when i looked at it on the car now. i also didnt have to mod my wheel wells at all, i did cut the bumpstop bolt (where the bolts screw to the frame) off to be over precautious. i easily have over an inch of clearance. this is with 17x10.5" rims and 315 tires. but i took the tires off as well bc i did them the same time

haha i would have gotten it but i have a HSR and its easily 1/2" taller in the front end than the TPI so it wouldnt fit so i made my own . no SFC either cuz i made my own for like 80$ and are thru floor 2"x2" tubing.

for some reason i couldnt get even an adjustable wrench on them. i dont believe i have a 1.25" open end wrench so i, having issues with this. i just dnt want them coming loose while driving

When the 315s need replacing, I'll get 335s. Or maybe I can move my 315s up front and get 335s for the rear now? No.....I'd have mismatched brands of tires.

I'd get bigger tires, if they'd fit my 11" wheels, but I can't find even 345/17s. Now if I could get 18" Snypers, I could do that on the rear?

Did you use a drive on hoist or 2 post (suspension loaded or not basically)?

I used a 2 post lifter to install all the parts then once they were installed I kinda basically finger tighten them if you want to call it that then I drove up a hoist then tighten all the bolts down to 72 lbs of torque then I added the grease or whatever then I was done.

Like Tony did his....Poly/urethane suspension has to be loaded, before tightening things down. I forget which Tony has, but I think rod ends, like me.

The rod ended LCAs & PHB would allow tightening them without the suspension fully loaded (tires on the ground) but old habits die hard & my suspension was loaded.

I got the Spohn LCARBs but never put them on (didn't need then after all) so I'm just looking to sell them now. How'd you like the UMI ones?
