O.K. $300 U.S it is
$13 extra for special color anodizing
$13 off for bare unfinished aluminum

I have checked into the customs brokerage thing and it is going to be a flat rate for brokerage and NAFTA fees of $30 U.S. - on top of shipping which would most likely be standard ground shippment - so aprox $20 to $30 U.S. depending on where you live.

Deposit info for everyone on the list will be sent out this week - once again you may now send U.S. funds - I will worry about conversion. Besides - U.S. dollars arent so bad

Cool! We are moving on these and it won't be long now guys!

OK, so here's how it looks from Karls post:

ALL USA DOLLARS

$300, for standard RED anodize

$313, for OPTIONAL COLOR anodize

$287, for NATURAL ALUMINUM color, no anodize

$30 customs/brokerage fees

$20 to $30 for UPS ground shipping.

So then, totals range anywhere from $337 to $373 depending on your options and shipping.

I'm ready!!

Once we get all the deposits from all those on the list it is an estimated 6 weeks (give or take) for total production time until they are ready to ship. That may seem like alot - but there is CNC machining to be done - they are all hand made - all that welding takes time - then anodizing - assembly ... you get the idea.

Once again I want to thank all of you for your interest and paitence - Thanks Tom for posting the pics and keeping this alive - and if you havent got in on this yet - but you want in - E-MAIL me ASAP - time is running out.

Just a few last minute questions:

The ones in the pictures further up in the posts are the natural, bare finished ones?

Do these mounts come with a warranty? If so, would the warranty be voided if I polished them?

Is there any reason why I would want to avoid polishing them?

Thanks, that's just a few things I hadn't thought about before.

no, as posted earlier in this thread like page one, those were the prototypes, therefore they were unfinished, completely natural bare aluminum, that was like 2 years ago, the other stuff i suspect is just good judgement, but I will let Mr. Hunter tell you for sure, oh and thanks very much to everyone that has kept this alive, I was hopping to be able to get these for when I put my car together the first time and it looks like that is going to happen, Thanks for willing to do this Mr. hunter, you probably could have bailed at any point, but you have been consistent and very patient with all of our questions, thanks

Polish them to your hearts content.

As far as warrenty goes - these are RACE pieces - designed for RACING purposes. They may work quite nicely on the street ( yes they do) but as a racing part there is no warrenty. This is consistent in the industry - and of course there are exceptions to every exception - and we stand by our products ... but due to the nature of the work these parts were designed to do and the unpredictable nature of racing in general... well you get the idea. But trust me - or trust anyone who has or who has seen these - they are up to the task.

Thanks for the quick response. I understand the whole warranty thing but I'm sure I'll never have a problem with them. They look very beefy - much better than any other mount I've seen sold for our cars. If I do polish them I'll be sure to post the pics.

I sent in my deposit 10 minutes after he sent out the e-mail. I just didn't think my deposit was newsworthy enough to post in the forums.

However, I know from previous experience that some people simply don't read their e-mail for weeks (or may have changed e-mail addresses in the last couple months), and may miss the request-for-deposit e-mail.

Hopefully HunterMotorsports will call some of the people that haven't sent in their deposit, just to make sure they haven't missed out.

So far I have received 8 deposits on PayPal.

Looks like PayPal gives a less than favourable exchange to the Canadian dollar Thats gonna cut into the profit margin - which is already pretty slim. Oh well.

But - yes - we are rolling on production. One way or the other I gotta sell all these puppies - so tell your friends.

I will of course still accept PayPal - but certified cheque or money order is also good.

In the future - I may not accept PayPal - but for this one - Its o.k.

sent mine in the night I received the e-mail, I can't believe how many people havent sent their deposit in, but then again I can understand how they may have thought that it would never happen, and boom it did. so anyway, Hunter, thanks for not upping the price on these, but I could understand if you might ask for a little more when we pay the rest of it. anyway, thanks.

just adding that please continue to use paypal, it is so much easier than having to deal with a money order and such, just do something like an add of 5% or somethin for the paypal users, It would NOT deter me from using paypal because of its convenience factor. thanks!:hail:

I will continue to use PayPal for this round of product. After that I am not sure.

The service charge is not where I am hurting the most. It is the exchange they give to the Canadian dollar - which right now is about 1.475 - so if you figure $300 U.S. X 1.475 = $442.50 Canadian - well thats less than I wanted to get for these things in canadian dollars - and that doesn't take into account the 3% service charge that PayPal adds - so I am taking quite a hit on that.

They won't mail me a U.S. dollar cheque either (paypal I mean)

So - in the future there may be extra charges for using paypal - who knows - but for sure these things are going to be more expensive next time around - so for those of you who still may be interested - send me an e-mail, as there are still some unspoken for.

O.K. I will e-mail as I receive money orders - I have 1 already, sounds like 2 on the way - which means that only 11 people have sent deposits.... thats not very many.

Those who haven't sent deposits yet will also be getting e-mails. You know who you are.

Update:

Machining and cutting of all parts is done.

Have to weld everything together, waiting for the bearings to come in, then request final payment, anodize and ship em out. Maybe another 3 weeks til they are ready 2 ship.

Still waiting on some deposits - looks like I am going to have leftover sets, so if anyone else wants a set of these let me know.

Suspension is rock hard....

Guys,
I've got wheel hop of the (BAM..BAM BAM!!!) variety on the back end, if I WOT in the dry in a straight line. I've read a ton of posts about SFC's, poly bushes, tyres and springs, but still am a little confused over what to do first for best effect.

My first question is, did the 3rd gens come with two suspension/spring settings, 1. Very hard, and 2. Rock hard, as mine are number 2. The car sits and tracks just fine, but shimmies left/right if I hit anything bigger than a bug on the road. Any help would be appreciated.

What would be the problem if I just shimmed the stock mount? I could easily get longer studs. Can somebody sell me on this new mount without telling me it's lighter (duh) and don't say it's an appearance part.
I'm a cheap bastard , I can't really see why I would need these not to mention that I've gotten word from John Burnett himself that street struts and even the majority of performance struts have plenty of travel. I value his opinion considering he builds racing motors and even demonstrated his expensive shock dyno (thing freaken warms up the shocks to any desired temp before it performs any of the dyno's).
I'm not trying to be like the character in my avitar, I just want the raw deal handed to me with facts. Oh yeah, and when it comes to drag racing you want the struts to extend as FAR as possible, this would defeat the purpose .

I'm a cheap bastard , I can't really see why I would need these not to mention that I've gotten word from John Burnett himself that street struts and even the majority of performance struts have plenty of travel.
