IROC'S DON'T HAVE A HARSH RIDE?
O.K. so I get my car back from the alighnment shop and the guy tells me "this has to be the harshest riding camaro they ever had there. Here's my combo:
1.base model v8 coils (thanks you pull it)
2. Monroe sensa tracks (you pull it again)
switched from the following:
1. 89 Iroc coils
2. Koni yellows
I thought it still rode stiff myself, but I have no more ideas on how to soften things up w/out losing handling.
Hmmmmmnn,
I know , I have one of those rare one of ten models set for really big *** people with some weight.

89 iroc,zz4/700r4/3:70 gears/koni yellows/herb adams bars/and alot of other crap to make it work!

Sounds like you should have softened quite a bit from what you had. Only thing I can offer is lower the air pressure a couple of pounds will help or change from Z rated tires. Low profile tires (especially Z rated) like on IROCS naturally ride harder than standard tires.

What are the spring codes? Try and find a set of NNN rear springs from an IROC or 1LE car. They offer a much better ride over the NNLs. My 90 Came with them stock, it has a much better ride than my 91 RS did with the NNLs. And they handle great After the RS was totaled i swaped the NNNs for NNLs the car didnt ride as good. The NNNs are a progressive spring,Looking at the two side by side the top 3 coils are tightly wound on the NNNs were the NNLs arent.

Any kind of factory springs more than 3 or 4 years old aren't even vaguely like they were when new. I wouldn't waste the time on any of them, no matter what the option codes are.
Try some new springs, I'd suggest Moog if you want a stockish sort of height and ride; and new shocks / struts. None of that is going to be any good used, ever.

You might want to see if something in the suspension is binding. I know someone who got his car and the previous owner had installed the rear swaybar upside down and it rode like a skateboard until he figured out why by comparing to another vehicle.

New shocks/struts made a big improvement in the ride of my car. Yeah.. I will have too give the dealer a call sometime and see if they have any NOS NNNs. I really like the combination of ride and handling they offer. Be nice to see how they compare new to old.
I tried those moog rear springs... I had to cut a coil and a half off the top to get the *** end down to were i liked it. The car handled better with them. The outside rear spring didnt drop as much in a turn and it was more stable at the limit. I ended up puttin the NNNs back in the trade off in ride quality wasnt worth it to me on my everyday driver. On a track though they would have been an improvement.
