What's this part called?
Hi all!
It was suggested I move my post from the Tech/General Engine Forum to this one.
Here's link to that thread:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...rt-called.html
Looking for the name of the bracket, the GM part number if possible, and any suggestions where I might get one.
Thank you for reading the thread and any help you can throw my way.
Gene

This may be it; It's a "Torque Arm Insulator" bracket. Part #10252375

Here's another illustration of the torque arm bracket (pretty sure that's what it's called) and its location:

According to "gmoutletparts" (link above) the 2 piece brackets have both been discontinued.
Do you need the actual brackets or just the bushing inside the bracket? I believe you can replace the bushing by it's self; but its been years since I had a factory torque arm so I'm not sure... If you need the actual bracket you may have to buy one used or NOS.

The question is, do you need the outer piece of the mount, the bracket that mounts to the tailshaft, or both? The link noshow gave is the outer piece, again, the bushing may be different than yours. I thought $6 was mighty cheap for the part when you said you found it in the other thread. The inner part that mounts to the TS will be a junkyard item only.

Ideally, I'd like to get both #14 (inner, manual trans) and #15 (outer torque arm bracket) as in your illustration in good shape with the bushings. It's understood that I might need to get them from a salvage yard and they'll be less than perfect.
btw...when the mechanic first identified the problem as (according to him) the "bolt fell out of the bracket during the test ride and that's what caused the "thumping noise" (as the bracket separated from the torque arm). He thought the bracket was originally a single piece and had "split" or broken. Now I see by everyone's input that it's actually a two-piece bracket so, just to be sure I'm able to permanently fix this thing, I'll pursue obtaining the entire bracket in the best condition I can find and hopefully put this thing to rest.
Thanks!

"If something seems too good to be true, it probably is."
I can return the part to Reilly's, no prob there but poor communication with this mechanic at the end of the week with his backlog of work to be done didn't allow him much time to talk with me so I could "pick his brain" about exactly what I need...so, I'm on my own for now.
