any ever try a sweet mfg steering box?

I saw this box and was wondering how it is. I think the 700 series box is what our cars come with from the factory. I know the Lee box is supposed to be really good, but it sure is expensive. What caught my eye with this one is that it's quite a bit cheaper...

With your car being road race only why not look into a tubular cross member and convert to rack and pinion steering

Because those setups are very expensive. If I was going to spend that kind of money, I would just get a corvette.

Re: any ever try a sweet mfg steering box?

I have been racing 3rd Gens in SCCA AS for over 10 years. Lots of success and a number of track records. I have always had Sweet build my boxes. Our rules require factory boxes but the Sweet guys are amazing to deal with and will work with you to get what you need. Let me know if you have any other questions. BTW I think I am the only guy in a 3rd Gen that has out qualified John Heinrcy in his fourth Gen. He typically beats me in the race but I can get a good lap or two in.
