Making steering stops for Spohn a-arms

My Spohn tubular a-arms did not come with steering stops on them. I would like to find something that I could just weld onto the a-arms somewhere.

What part online are you guys using that I could order for welding onto my a-arm that would make a perfect steering stop?

I was just going to put jack stands under my a-arms for turning the wheels to figure out where to weld them on.

Thanks!

Re: Making steering stops for Spohn a-arms

I would love to know why everyone cares about steering stops on their control arms... there are stops in the steering box, and even if you have wider wheels and what was originally a 15" wheel steering box (usually still quick ratio but thinner stops in the box so you can turn the wheel farther), there is no reason why you need to crank the wheel all the way over anyway.

Welding a stop to a tubular control arm will add a stress point on one of the tubes making it more likely to break there, and turning the wheel against a stop overloads the power steering setup (yea there's a bypass, still)... neither of which are a great thing.

Re: Making steering stops for Spohn a-arms

Because when I must make tight turns it will save my expensive tires and new inner fenders. Even just backing out of my garage into my cul de sac and turning to get out of it, I manage to rub my tires. It's simply unavoidable sometimes.

What is the best way to do this without compromising the integrity of the a-arm tube?

I had no idea this was a big deal on the forum lol.

Perfect, thanks for the link! I had looked on their a-arm parts page and never saw it.
