About to do springs, struts and shocks with a new front-end. What do you all recommend in all around better handling suspension on my 87 GTA?

Bilstein are a great factory replacement. TireRack seems to have the best price on them that I've found. Not the cheapest shocks/struts for these cars, but probably the best for all around driving/handling.

Re: what kinda of struts and shocks are you guys using?
I went with the MOOG 5665 Springs and KYB "Gas a Just" rear shocks and its a good thing I like a rake because it added a inch to the height in the rear.
It seems to be settling a little bit.
I think the KYBs are OK for around town and having a little fun. What I wanted was a stiff shock and that's what they deliver .
I have never had a performance shock on my car so have a hard time with a comparison.
As mentioned the Koni Yellows get "A LOT" of good reviews. If I did anything but straight line launches I would have bought them.

I was going to look into the Bilstein. I hear mixed feeling on KYB's . So, Koni yellows compared to Bilsteins?...Oh, I also was looking into lakewood any thoughts on those, but i think they are more for drag racing. I need something more for handling rt now. I just got my new front end parts so i would like to install it all at the sametime. Plus, i think i will order lowering spring too. Car sat for almost 9 years so it's time......

I run a set of kyb gr2 struts and a used set of bilsteins in the rear. For a budget setup they work extremely well. They are relatively stiff but but I think I would recommend Komi yellows based on reviews here for the best possible handling.
For a handling built car I wouldn't use lakewoods, as you said they are more for drag racing.

Re: what kinda of struts and shocks are you guys using?
My suspension consists of the following:
Koni Yellow struts/shocks
Moog 5662/5665 springs
Global West Del-Alum A-arm bushings
TDS Wonderbar
Spohn Del-Sphere LCA
Spohn Del-Sphere PHB
Spohn Subframe connectors
I can say without a doubt that the Koni struts/shocks are by far the best suspension modification. Both from a performance aspect as well as just general enjoyment while driving. It's not just turning hard in corners that these benefit you. It's also things like dips in the road or controlling how much transition there is when you accelerate while pulling out into traffic.
I would say that Konis are about 80% of my suspension improvement. The other 20% is everything else combined.
They are not cheap though. I bought the rears first and waited a couple months before buying the fronts. Split the costs up a bit. But I will tell you that they are worth every single penny.

Re: what kinda of struts and shocks are you guys using?
I have koni yellow fronts (and some other stuff) on my 92 RS that I DD, autoX, and take to HPDEs. One day i will have 4th gen koni yellow rears.
On my 69 camaro, I have the KYB gas-a-justs. Has a nice sporty ride to it but can't really speak on handling as its really just a cruiser. I can tell you that KYB gave the gas-a-just a stiffer compression valving to create a performance feel.

Re: what kinda of struts and shocks are you guys using?
I'm on the Koni Yellows/Ground Control setup. Car is my daily driver with a minimum of at least one autocross event a month. I will say the Konis are awesome and I am more than happy with my purchase, but if I wasn't as serious into autocross I don't think I could justify the price. Just my 2¢
