Midwest Fab 9inch opinions on suspension parts...
Im picking up my Midwest fab 9 on tues. Right now Im running the factory moog springs all around. I wanted to upgrade my rear shocks to koni yellow adjustable. Im set on these since I swapped them into my 94 gt the car rides great. I just have the factory macpherson ones on my camaro now. I was contemplating lowing springs but its stance is ok now and dont want to get to low because of the longtubes and welded brace for the torque arm. Any considerations I have to think of since this is a 9 inch? It supposed to be a tad lighter than the 9 bolt I took out. Dont know if the factory moog springs will have a different effect on a different weight rear. And any other things Im glossing over. Thanks

The rear is unsprung weight, the is does not change the cars ride height, however since the new axle has thicker diameter axle tubes there is a possibility of the rear sitting 1/4 to 3/8 inxh higher than before

I think the 9" is heavier than the 9bolt.
I have a aluminum center chunk with locker in mine and its still a bit portly.

I think its within 10-20 lbs but the 9" is a larger bit of metal.
Please weigh them when you get em. I'm very curious now.

MW uses their own TA. What do you mean by 'welded brace for the TA'?
Detroit Speed has the koni shocks with lowering springs (or buy the springs and source the shocks): http://www.detroitspeed.com/DSE_Catalog-15/Detroit-Speed-Catalog-15.html#/45

Their torque arm is a short version. It doesnt tie to the tranny. Theirs bolt point is a chromoly shaft that is welded in to your subframe at the rear. The arm mounts to that. I questioned this as well. They told me the setup is stronger than factory since its tied into the subframe connectors. Will put a cage in it soon though.
