How much better 0-60 w/ fully aftermarket suspension

i have a question for everyone, how much better would my 0-60 time be if i had a fully aftermarket suspension? i have a 1984 z28, my current setup is this

rebuilt 5.7l 275hp 300ft/lbs
panhard bar
lower control arm and subframe connectors
edelbrock 650cfm carb
freshly rebuilt 1986 700r4 (has shift kit from what ive been told)

What i plan to do-
torque arm (the whole setup for about $450)
wonder bar
under-drive pulleys, lightweight dual exhaust exiting at front tires
lightwieght hood
and some carb tuning with performance air filter

I hope this can get my 5.7l to reach 300hp 325-340ft/lbs?? dont really know how much extra ft/lbs to expect from all this

i plan to get the weight of the car to 3200

im comparing this to a 1994 z28, 275hp 325ft/lbs and weighs about 200lb more than my car, its 0-60 is 5.5

i got to thinking and was wondering since my car would have about 25 more hp and weight about 200lbs less, and have a better suspension, would it be unreasonable to expect a 5.5 or better 0-60 for my 84 z28???

Im not to sure if this is the right area to post this, but im mainly talking about suspension so this seemed like the right place

I forgot to mention it is an H.O. model, if that makes any difference

Can no one answer this?????? i know no one knows the exact numbers unless i actually time it, what im asking is does it sound reasonable to expect 5-5.5 0-60????

Re: How much better 0-60 w/ fully aftermarket suspension

how do you know how much power you have now? how fast is it now?

also, keep in mind that the newer Camaro that you are comparing it to was pretty seriously underrated from the factory: your engine rating is at the flywheel, but LT1 owners were reporting that they were getting close to their full power rating at the rear wheels back when they were new, which means that they have at least 50 more hp at the flywheel than what they were rated at..

nothing you have listed will make the car much faster than it is right now- but you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you threw a whole bunch of money away buying parts you don't need, so there's that, i guess.... it might be a little quicker, but not much.

Re: How much better 0-60 w/ fully aftermarket suspension

0-60 mph is not really a good means to base performance on. 0-60 mph time is a function of gearing, and traction.

It have been many years so my numbers may be alittle off, but this will give you an idea of what I mean.

My car went from 6's to 5's with just a torque converter change, then from 5's to 4's with some sticky tires, then from 4's to 3's with major suspension work.. Not 1 time was the engine changed, modded, upgraded from the starting point of this build.

Then added more gear (3.89 vs 3.42), more converter ("9.5" 3500 vs 11" 2800), and 150+ hp and car went from 3.2's to 2.9's and back to not enough traction to launch car at WOT, I have to roll into the throttle to keep it from spinning.

Re: How much better 0-60 w/ fully aftermarket suspension

yea if you want more seat in pants feel gearing and converter will get you there faster

if your lowered then invest in LCARB if not then dont worry to much
but suspension wise to go straigh not much is needed really good tires and shocks will help greatly

but your not putting crazy enough power down to warrant throwing money at rear suspension i would put it towards gearing and converter can get a s10 converter cheap and get 3.42 gear as long it matches up with intake and cam you have it would improve your times alot more

then start putting money into rear suspension as you get more power launch harder and go faster etc but thats my opinion
