Where To Get A Factory Style Close Ratio Steering Box?
nyone find an easily available/reasonably priced close ratio 12.7:1 box?
The rebuild that Autozone had in stock (that the website listed as a "sport" box) and the reviews said was an f-body ('82-92) close ratio box looks to be about a 15-16:1 box.
Doing some more digging, all the listings seem to list a 3.5 turns one and a 2.5 turns one (the 2.75 that I have in the video above is listed as a 2.5). The 2.5 is listed as a "sport suspension" "high effort" "FE2" or "F41". Napa lists the same options but lists one as a 3-3/8 and the other as a 2-3/4 (I'm guessing that is the same box as I have above).
How/where/what PN is the correct 2.25 turns lock to lock one? Heck, I'll even take a close ratio 15" wheel box (should be the same ratio but give you a little more lock to lock and my tires would rub at lock but I wouldn't care that much)...
