Re: Spohn Suspension build with maybe videos

I'd watch it.

That being said... get yourself a cordless impact drill. It's the one power tool I can't go without when working on the car.

Meh I don't think I am that high speed. Ratchets and Torque Wrench's are all I got so sucks to be me but I think I can edit out me dealing with bolts wouldn't be family friendly

Re: Spohn Suspension build with maybe videos

check your tie rods that will sit in the notch cut outs in the K member.. as they will hit the K member when you drive it..(unless you go with the rack set up)

and you will have wheel setback (front wheels moved back about 1 3/4".
this is one of the goofy things with Spohns k member...

pic are from my car..with there goofy K member. test fit and mock up only.. when all the probs showed up.. upgraded to a UMI K member. and all probs went away..like Xmas with new parts..

Re: Spohn Suspension build with maybe videos

on a side note I tried every A arm spohn makes. every one..the only thing that fixed the wheel back was dumping the K Member.. I sold the K member and A arms with Trans Cross Member for $750 shipped and picked up the UMI K member..

sold parts on the way out to the Buyer (sphon parts)on to the nexed guy.. sorry its just if you buy them you are stuck with them..
as they will not admit its there parts that is goofy.. side note..my car has under 50.000 miles only driven by me. and has been a show car drag car all its life... 1 of only a hand full of Z28s done by Lingenfelter in 92...

Re: Spohn Suspension build with maybe videos

The video should include instructions on how to properly get credit for and return the Spohn parts and buy something else. Especially the k member and a arms.

If your going to install them take a lot of pictures and measurements BEFORE you take your car apart so you can at least have something to present to spohn when the new parts don't fit and they give you the "your car must have been wrecked" answer

Already see some Spohn precision engineering going on here. Nothing some wiggling and jiggling can't fix so far

Well if this must be done it must be done properly ofcourse.

Re: Spohn Suspension build with maybe videos

So been waiting on misc parts still, waiting on slot and drilled front and back rotors but I have everything to start while I wait. Been doing some brake line measuring and some color testing. Also had to take a day to install rear seats, belts and a new headliner. Gonna start on this axle and painting it black and all the calipers front and back gold. Gold and black will be the color scheme. TA's did gold and black good... But I think Iroc's do it better. Everything on this car is OEM so this is a start of an adventure. I can use my old axle to build it for power so I will paint it too and set it aside for a future date when I do the T56 swap. And I got the car jacked up high and on solid ground with 4 jack stands +1 more and jack for safty so time to get to it

Re: Spohn Suspension build with maybe videos

Measuring Rear Lower Control arms and Pan hard bar in a 120 degree oven of a garage while contemplating why do I not invest in a AC unit for the Garage until then I set up work bench in there for now
I know that I need to pre-adjust these for a 1 inch drop from summit racing springs BRAND NEW and maybe some Koni's... IF MAIL COULD ARRIVE Till then back to math class. and before anything else more rust grinding to be continued with pictures of shiny new looking things after paint.

Been working hard more pictures to follow then I will get into the Suspension video. And I can't make a movie watching paint dry. Honestly I really hate painting, And it show's my paint job is full of Ah who gives a ****ing hoot, and anger in general just like me. So it works I am happy with it I'll take hood pics when sun is out. Exhausted lots done now sleep.
