Detroit Speed QuadraLINK...
Hey board members! Beginning the build of my 90RS and am contemplating a few options for the rear suspension set up. I will be using DSE subframe connectors and probably the Alston Inners as well. I already have an 04 Corvette 5.7 and T56.
Id like as much room as possible to run duals that will be dumped before the axle, so I would like to eliminate the torque arm, and still make the car hook up and handle better. So here's what I'm thinking for rear suspension setups.
1- I really Like the Detroit Speed line up of suspension components. I have spoke with them about the QuadraLink set up and this seems like a great set up paired with an 8.8 rear axle and Coilovers...Minimal fab work(less down time). Id just notch the rear seats before having them re covered...
2- My grandfather was big into Corvettes and an I can buy a complete 87 rear suspension for $350 from the estate, caliper to caliper, sway bar, shocks, etc, and its in excellent shape. The price is very tempting....
3- 8.8 rear axle with some form of torque arm and watts link, full rotational joints at all mounting locations with coil overs.
Fabrication.... Not a worry at all, I've been doing fab work most of my life personally and professionally, held more AWS certs than I can remember lol. I work in Fabrication as a supervisor, foreman, welder trainer, inspector, etc. Iv'e even been tinkering with a C5 rear set up..
Anyway, back on point.. does anyone have any experience with the DSE set up? thoughts? I'm in the process of taking the car the car to be a killer street set up that I can take to road courses and autocross just for fun, drag strip not so much...
Thanks for any input, i look forward to sharing the build with all of you guys!

Re: Detroit Speed QuadraLINK...
In all the other Quadra link setups for other platforms, it doesn't leave much room for exhaust. People have a hard time getting the tubes past the rear with them

Exhaust will be dumped before the axle. Had them same set up in my 99 Z28 Zoo with headers, no cats, spoke and dynomax ultraflo mufflers under the rear seats. That car sounded awesome. I'll probably replicate that exhaust in this car. So no worries about going over the axle.

If you're doing an engine swap and will need a conversion transmission crossmember, skip the Alston inner SFCs. They get in the way of bolting in the T56 conversion crossmember. I had to cut off a large chunk of the crossmember to get it to fit around the Alstons.
