Idler arm

The idler arm on my car has some play in it, would this Ebay offer a good replacement?

Re: Idler arm

I'd go with a name brand like moog k6249.
I did use a mevotech mk6249 on my 91z28 seems like a nice piece for a lower price point.
I'm always Leary of cheap steering and brake parts. If something fails because it's junk well....

Re: Idler arm

Older design maybe?
It just needs a fresh coat of black paint I guess...
Btw, I bought the AC Delco 45C1065 arm from Rockauto as well, so I can compare before which one to use..

Re: Idler arm

More like cheap junk, or somebody sold you their old used part. The 30 year old parts on my car look better than that.

Let me ask you a question... does NAPA sell parts on ebay?

Probably not, but others certainly sell NAPA boxed parts.

I WAS A "Stocking Dealer" for Moog in the 1970-80's and have used their parts since. Moog is top notch!

Re: Idler arm

Been a lot of flooding the last few years. Wonder if some crumb is reselling trashed stock from a flooded store.

I still suspect it is an old used part somebody took off their car though.

It's probably too late, but you need to check "play" in the idler arm as specified in the service manual. Unless you like throwing perfectly good parts in the trash.

I've had more than a few alignment shops tell me mine was worn out when it was still good.

Re: Idler arm

Recieved the AC Delco 45C1065 arm from Rockauto today.
On the Rockauto order it says: "Made in China", on the AC Delco box it says: "Made in USA"....???
There is no "Made in the USA" stamped on the AC Delco arm though, just some numbers...6717-C WAN8.
The Delco arm angle is excact the same as the angle on the "old" new Nappa arm I bought as well, see above.
