Tbi To Tpi
i got a 89 camaro with 305 tbi and i want more power, and i hear that tpi will give me that, what would i need to make this to a tpi and how much $$$ am i looking at spending...also is there anyway to make this engine sound meaner..i see like 5.0 mustangs and they sound liek amuscle car , mine sounds like a dam v6....can soemeom help me..thx

Transmission: 4L60
Axle/Gears: 14 bolt with 3.07 gears
Don't bother. Keep the TBI, invest in burning chips while tuning on a stock engine, use the knowledge learned to burn chips as you make mods to the TBI. It doesn't take TPI to go fast. I know its not fast but it is impressive for a 305 in a 5,000 lbs brick with 3.08 gears. 15.9 @ 88 in the 1/4 with a 305 TBI.

what chip do you recommend for more power? and is it hard to install?

You've got a lot of reading to do. Read all the stickies at the top of this TBI forum. They will show you the light, you can make good power with TBI. Good luck
