I acctually have the pages marked in classic industries for the washer bottle and overflow tank.
And, IMO, the 350 TBI is worth the effort. I have maybe 500 into the 350, on a vortec shortblock, and maybe $50 into the Pick&pull computer, injectors, and spark control module.
More cubes is really woth it, i think. Besides, my engine had 130,000 on it. At least now, i have the base to to more. but i have to maintain emissions legality.

Re: Post your TBI engine pictures!

Here's my most recent pics from this weekend, i was in the process of deleting the a/c and puttin my headers on. I still gotta a lot more work like blocking the air hole in the firewall from the a/c and gettin some cut to length plug wires. Also can someone please give me the part number and brand of their upper radiator hose cause the one they gave me at pep boys doesnt follow the stock routing.

That licence plate is mounted very carefully in front of the red bow tie. I really miss it because it just finished of the front end and screamed "Chevy" . CA state laws suck.

Bigreed- the upper radiator hose I got at autozone doesn't fit like the stock one either, I'm not sure why the are like that and I had to cut mine down a bit, but it's not it the way of anything so I don't really mind

probably got the TPI hose, not the TBI hose. they are different. I hate that almost every hose is cut to fit.

Re: Post your TBI engine pictures!

The NAPA store I go to does a real decent job. My new hoses fit good, though I had a bit of a challenge with the lower hose because the shop that built my radiator put the fitting lower than stock - the hose sits against the wonder bar and is very close to the idler arm. In my pics above, you can just make out the Gates part number on the upper hose as 21675.

Re: Post your TBI engine pictures!

Lol it's really not that bad once you get used to it. No I don't have heat or wipers, which is the dumbest thing I could've done but that's why I bought my 91 L98 car to have those comforts ( minus the A/C lol ) It's keeping it's Heat, wipers, interior and stereo. Really I took out EVERYTHING that pretty much wasn't essential to engine function. I gutted the harness, removed all misc hardware and cleaned it up a bit.

he does not have the stock brackety either. looks like some march brackets or something on there. so basically whatever he says is useless to you for belt size

Re: Post your TBI engine pictures!

Yep it WAS the whole March Mid Mount serpentine set up but I decided to go further and go with an electric water pump and a manual S10 steering box. Hell you can easily make the mid mount set up for less than 50 bucks if your good with metal. the biggest expense is buying the new pullies. I made another alternator bracket out of some cheap walmart 3/8th spacers and a 2 dollar piece of 1/2 aluminum for my 91.

Jahblah I would DEFINATELY do away with the washer bottle and clean up the rest of the hoses and wires. Plus get a bigger air cleaner, that thing looks terrible.

Re: Post your TBI engine pictures!

My ac delete pulley from summit came in and i finally had a chance to start on my engine bay. i removed the washer bottle and all the AC except the part by the heater box on the firewall. also removed the smog pulley, pump, and the hoses on the manifolds. i left the metal spider things on the maifolds and just plugged up the part where the rubber hose went. im ordering my summit headers friday. already got the exhaust setup. guy off craigslist gave them to me for FREE!!! duals too. came off his iroc he had. he had a bunch of project cars and apparently was overwhelmed with stuff. has each pipe running off a header straight back (following the factory route, not literally straight back) with an H in the middle. no cats. its all welded. im off course..ANYWAYS..from everything ive "deleted" so far, WHAT EXACTLY DO I DO WITH ALL THE WIRES THAT WAS LEFT BEHIND????? i didnt just RIP everything out. i took apart and removed the wire plugs but now everythings just laying around. PLEASE HELP!!! and i get a SES light after a bit of driving so please help with that too if ya can

Re: Post your TBI engine pictures!

well you need to see why teh check engine light is coming on. disabling the AIR system would not cause that.

Re: Post your TBI engine pictures!

I bet it is an EGR code. That plagued me for years. only real fix i ever got for it was replacing the ECM with a FLASH EBL. I suppose if you had the egr system burned out of your chip that would work also

I have another stock set of fuel lines that I'm going to take to a local hose shop and have them cut the middle out and fit a set of braided lines. With my Vortec intake, the stock lines I have don't want to fit to the throttle body without interference. With braided lines, I can mount the whole thing as stock and run it behind the alternator and along the valve cover.

think i could get another EGR valve, like off another car or something until i can get a chip burnt? i know it wont be in NEW condition but im thinking it would be cheaper. plus i wanted to get a chip burt after i finish modding and drop in my 350 tbi. dont plan on buying 2 chips within the same time frame.

Re: Post your TBI engine pictures!

It's in a 1990 Blazer. Here are a few more pics including what it looks like now.
I miss the 2wd tire smoker. That also had a tbi 350.

This was the last ride for it as a K5 so to speak. Tear down started soon after the mag ride.

What it looks like now.
