Cam suggestions...

Which of these cams would you recommend for my set-up (other suggestions welcome). I've got a set of ported L98 aluminum heads, Torker II intake, 670cfm throttle body, and 1.6 roller rockers. I think that's all that's gonna make a difference, see my website if ya' wanna know more...

Well first off, what kind of mods do u have? Do u have headers? If you have a completely stock car then I would wait on the cam. I would do exaust, headers, some intake work like open elemet, spacer, some tb unit modifying and then I would get the cam. You would get way more power out of your cam if you do it like this.

I'll tell you, I wish i would have gone with a little longer duration on my cam. You can check it out at the bpottome of the page. I don't think I would go more than .510 max lift on either one. All those raitos that you listed are for 1.5 rockers. If you want my opinion you shgould look for someting like .488/.510 x 224/230 @.050" You'll definatley need a custom chip with that Cam a 2800 stall TC would work really well. Since you have and intake and Headers already then you are definately hurting yourself with that dang peanut cam! Also try to keep the Lobe separation less than 112* that will keep you idle descent. If you don't have time to get a custom chip during all this, your car will run but tou;ll need to turn the fuel pressure way down. Other wise ytou will be running REALLY rich. (been there done that, got the T-shirt to prove it ). If you have questions Please Email me and I'll be happy to discuss my experience with you.

later,
Lars

Lars meant a wider lobe sep is better, like above 112

i really like the LT4 hot cam myself. What with it being roller i think it would make the same power as a bigger flat tappet cam and easier to program for

btw Lars, lose the IAT resistor, thats just making you richer

E-mail Coolfb@aol.com He put a real nice cam in his 305 tbi and he has never had a problem with it at all.
Personal Note: The guy runs a 14.73 in the 1/4 mile with a 305 tbi, now that is badass!
