My father inlaw and I are thinking about building a RS Camaro on the cheap!!! We found a clean 88 LO3 5sp $2100, used TPI heads $125, LT1 cam free from my 97 Z, timing chain $40, Felpro gasket set $80, FlowMaster 80 from the junkyard(SCORE!) $8, You Pull It rear with 3.42(open) $50. Thats the main stuff plus all the other free things!! Is there anything I forgot? How many of you are running something like this and how do you like it?(is it good, or should we save for a decient TPI car?) Oh, if your looking for bang for the buck inquire at local junk yards for a used vortec 350 out of a 96 to 98 GM truck. They go for $1100 to $1300 around here with 30,000mi on them!! Only a little more than twice the cost of the vortec heads themselves!!! Do a search on badbird88 and you'll see what he did with out lifting a valve cover!!!
