Re: TBI MAF code and FAQ
So the Base Spark Advance setting should be set in the .bin at 0 ?
I have roughed in the MAF tables with Tunerpro RT. I was going too wait for the edited .ads or adx and .bin.
I didn't like the flex hose I had between the MAF and the throttle body bonnet so I replaced it with silicone couplers and a short aluminum tube with a 22 degree bend.
Thanks
Mike...

Re: TBI MAF code and FAQ
The 0 degree setting at the dist. usually works best for startup to prevent kickback when your cranking a TBI motor hot.
The bin should also be set to whatever the dist. is set to, so the timing delivered by the dist. will match whats in the timing tables.

Re: TBI MAF code and FAQ
Will setting the fan temps at max temp and the speed thresholds at 0 MPH totally disable the fan control so it doesn't turn on?

Re: TBI MAF code and FAQ
Here are some MAF tables for various MAFs. The MAF is pinned to pin F12 for the transmission output speed. If your using a 4L60-E, you will need to directly connect the VSS sensor to the PCM to maintain operation of the transmission.
Let me know if your still interested, and I can help you out some more.
Let me know if your still interested, and I can help you out some more.
1.) If these are the correct pinouts between the MAF/IAT and PCM 16197427, and what pin on the PCM would Pin A from the MAF/IAT connect to?:
Pin A IAT Low Reference => B9 (Ground)
Pin B IAT Signal => PCM Pin E14 (MAP, Linear EGR Ref +5V)
Pin C MAF Ground => PCM Pin B4 (Sensor Ground)
Pin D MAF 12V Ignition => Ignition switched power +12V
Pin E MAF Signal => PCM Pin F12 (Transmission Output Speed ie: TOS)
2.) If you can use MAF and a 4L60e (1994) using PCM 16197427? Asking because FAST355's quote seems to suggest that you can but I read somewhere that you can use either MAF or a 4L60e with this PCM but not both because the PCM only has one VSS input. If the MAF signal is going to the TOS VSS input on the PCM (ie: PCM pin F12), then what pin on the PCM would the VSS signal from the 4L60e connect to? If this PCM cannot support both MAF and a 4L60e and I don't want to use an aftermarket transmission controller then is my only option to use another PCM to control the 4L60e and if so what considerations would there be in terms of the definition file that is loaded onto the 2nd PCM?
3.) Since I have a cable driven speedometer (1987 V10 Chevy 4x4 pickup) in my transfer case, my cruise control is vacuum actuated, my retrofitted electric cooling fans are actuated by a switch in the head and fan relays, my electric AC fans are activated via relays, I don't believe I would need to use a DRAC, assuming that I use a 2PPM square wave adapter to drive my speedo cable and to generate the VSS signal directly to the PCM via pins F2 and F3. Is this correct?
I have tried to make these questions as precise as possible. Hopefully someone can answer.
