i finally have heat!
So this is what ive been up to lately, i finally got around to drilling the holes in my heater box and put it on, had a tiny fitment issue with it not clearing the lip at the top of the firewall but it was an easy fix. I think it bein 40 degrees this mornin motivated me to finally do it.

Well this is what i did today so i finally have a working tach, plus i already had the tach since it was in the car when i bought it and i had some extra wire sitting around i used. So it was at no cost pretty much. I will say i think a 10,000 rpm tach is a lil excessive, a 8,000 would of been better. I now know that my car idles at 800 rpms, is that about normal? Just curious. Also in the pic im not at 5,000 rpms thats just where i set the shift point for the shift light i dont have.

That looks good with the heater-only box. Opens up some room to work, too.
800 RPMs (hot idle) sounds a smidge high for a 305 TBI, but not by much.
My brother lives down near you (Yorktown). You ever need a hand with anything he's like twice as nuts as I am about helping out fellow 3rd gen owners. Viciously smart on the electronics and ECM/engine controls (military trained + proper diagnostic tools + avid hobbyist = good combination). And possibly the only person on the planet who understands how a Trans Am digi-dash and electronic HVAC controls work! Shoot me an email if you want and 'll plug you into him.

I got it from hawks thirdgen, they're kinda pricey but the overall quality of it was good. The only thing i didnt like was only 3 of the fan holes lined up right but it wasnt a big issue and all the holes for the firewall were spot on. It cleared the headers perfectly and the headers are the main reason i got rid of the a/c box. All in all im happy with, oh and it is fiberglass with like a black gloss epoxy finish.
At damon; i'll send you an email, it'd be awesome to have someone help with the whole tuning and electrical side considering a tune is the only thing keeping me from gettin a cam and some decent heads.
