Carb to TBI help
The car is a 92 camaro RS, bought it about a yr ago. The p.o converted it over to carb. It looks like all the wiring is still there for the TBI.
My fuel pump recently went out & I'm wanting to convert it back over to TBI. Heres what I know so far that I will need.
1)TBI manifold/intake
2)Injectors
3)Sensors, is there a list anywhere of exactly which I will need & where they go?
4)Stock fuel filter
5)Stock Fuel Pump
I'm sure there something I'm missing. BTW It does not have to be smog legal. Altough the pump is still installed, I do not want to spend extra money trying to make it smog legal.
Thanks.

Re: Carb to TBI help
Here is how my fuel delivery system looks right now. Can I reuse the rubber lines for the TBI? Also one is blocked off, what do I do about that one?
Any & all help appreciated.... Thanks

Re: Carb to TBI help
well now. here we are!!!!
1. there should be three lines coming from the tank up front.
a. supply--there
b. return
c. vent
2. look under the rear of the car in front of the rear axle on the drivers side and see if the stock fuel filter is there.
3. yes you can use rubber lines for all. it is only going to be 15 psi max for that car
4. sensors?
a. map sensor
b. throttle position sensor
c. iac valve
d. coolant temperature sensor
e. tbi model distributor
f. air temperature sensor
5. check the wiring harness for all the wiring
6. egr valve will also be needed along with the egr solenoid if needed for inspection.
7. charcoal canister and vacuum lines for visual inspection. if needed
8. a stock air cleaner for inspection only. if needed
9. tbi intake and tbi with 305 injectors
10. at least a 180 thermostat. I would run a 195
11. reset the fan control
or I can give you 1200 fir it and I will take it off your hands.

Re: Carb to TBI help
Or we could trade....
I fixed the pump... a piece of the wire powering it was bare & was causing a short. I put some electrical tape around it & one of those plastic thinga ma jigs. Drove it around for about an hour, no problems.
Diana still wants to convert it over. Thanks for the input, I'll bookmark this & reference it when I decide to do it...
