What PROM do I need?
Hey guys, just started a 355 swap into a 305 B4U Caprice LTZ. It's a nice 1992 model with G81 factory limited slip, GU5 3.23 gears, V08 heavy duty cooling, FE3 Sport Suspension and B4U Sport Performance Package.
The engine is a 77 model 4 bolt 010 block, bored .030 over with flat top pistons, vortec heads, a Comp Cams XE256, and the intake is an Edelbrock Performer RPM (not the air gap). Long tube summit B body headers, adding 3 wire oxygen sensor, and Im deleting the EGR as we are not required to have it and my intake is not provisioned for it. I'll be using a TBI unit from a 93 9C1 350 Caprice. Id also like to have it not set a light for the transmission as I run a stand alone 700R4 Raptor that has a 4th gear lockup controlled without the pcm.
I don't want to do EBL, id just like to have something I can plug in and go, doesn't have to be perfect, just close. Will the 9C1 prom get me close? Is there a way to trick the egr to think its still working? Will the TCC being unhooked get me a CEL?

The 355 will probably be capable of producing 100hp more that the LO3 does, tweaking the just the chip will not get the job done.
I also bought that same piece of junk 700R4 Raptor from PATC, it shifted harsh and it blew the fuse every time it shifted to 4th gear
