Edelbrock 3704 a bad choice.?

My car has been having this dreaded engine surge when in park and sometimes it would stall out when I start up without my foot on the gas. Long story short, found out the intake manifold is warped so I just ordered a replacement, the 3704. I searched the forums and see that a lot of people wouldn't recommend it. Well I just need a manifold to finish fixing my car, I'm not yet working on making it more powerful or faster. So my question is, will the 3704 deliver at least the same performance as the stock manifold on a 305 tbi.? I see ppl say you have to bore it, I see others say boring it will make minimal difference. I just want to know if by going with this manifold am I going to lose performance or can I expect it to drive the same with out noticing.?

Thanks

First Guess: The Edelbrock will deliver same-or-better performance on a 305.

How warped was the original manifold? I'd probably have had a machine shop cut it, then install with thicker gaskets--assuming the manifold wasn't so bad that it couldn't be salvaged.

I don't think it was that bad to where i couldn't salvage it, but I figured ordering a new part would be faster, so I took that route before even thinking about it. But I hope I don't lose performance like I keep hearing.

Personal experience with one on a 350 resulted in small gains of power and noticeably better throttleresponse. Torque increased across the whole RPM range.

The performer is certainly not the best intake, but you will not lose power.
People generally expect huge gains when they bolt it on their LO3 or similar low output engines, but that is not going to happen since the big restrictions are the heads, cam, exhaust, ...

Here is one exemple of it on a fun combo.
