speed sensor for 700r4
Hey, im new to this website. I have a question. My third gear was burnt out in my original transmission from my 1992 Camaro RS with a 305 tbi. i bought another 700r4 from the same year but it was a trans am or a firebird. I forget. I swapped the transmission out and hooked everything back up. but when i got to the speed sensor in the tail housing. It was a different plug in. from looking at it, it looks like I will be able to swap out the speedo sensor from my old transmission and bolt it up to my newer one. will this work, or am I an idiot?
Also, my old transmission I'm going to rebuild for a back up when this one decides to die on me. thanks in advance for the help

It should work, make sure the driven gear on the trans output shaft is the same as on your old transmission.
I had good look with the rebuild kit from https://www.700r4l60e.com

I can get a rebuild kit from napa with the clutch packs and all the seals and stuff for around 170$. btw, everything worked out with the swap of the speed sensor.

Good to hear it worked out
A good rebuild kit for 170$ is a steal, make sure it has all you need, including the bushings.

Re: speed sensor for 700r4
Thanks again! It's through an auto parts store. And I have a friend of mine that works there, so he's giving me his discount. But before I rebuild my old transmission, I want to focus on doing body work before winter time. Was saving the transmission for a winter project to do on my days off from work. Hate the snow and the cold!
