92 350 TBI to carb swap (derby truck)
Okay so what I have is a 92 K2500. I'm building it into a derby truck and I would like to get rid of the throttle body and computer. I have the intake and dizzy part covered it's pretty straight forward. Where my real questions are, is what to do about the 700r4 TV cable? Does it only control OD? Do I need it? and how to change from a serp system to vbelt system. This is just a derby truck not a driver. If anyone could provide some steps and procedures to take it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

No. Yes.
Remove entire serpentine system, including all brackets and accessories, the reverse-rotation water pump and reverse-rotation fan.
Install entire V-belt system, including all brackets and accessories, using matched-set pulleys (all removed from the same donor vehicle) including standard-rotation water pump and standard-rotation fan. For a derby vehicle, maybe you don't want the fan. (I think you're crazy to remove the serpentine system.)

The only reason I want to remove the serp. system is because I need to get rid of the alternator, and a/c compressor... anyways around that?

How do they feel about a disconnected alternator--no electricity supplied, (no wires attached) and a disconnected A/C compressor--no refrigerant pressure, no electricity to the clutch (hoses disconnected, no wires attached to clutch) ?
If they still have a hard-on, remove everything including water pump and fan, reinstall as much V-belt donor items as required/allowed by racing organization. At minimum you'll need a crank pulley, a standard-rotation water pump and pulley, and a belt to go between them. You might be able to find a PS pump, pulley, and brackets than can be used to adjust belt tension.
I presume a fan is also removed to prevent fan blades from contacting the radiator...correct?
