92 5.0 TBI stalling, erratic idle, start issues

Sorry-- I posted this in "general" before realizing there is a specific TBI thread:

As the subject states, stalling, erratic idle.

Acts as if it is flooded....will only start with throttle wide open (foot to the floor), and even then, sputters for a few seconds (burning off excess fuel in the cylinders?) before it will run right...

I am thinking a TB rebuild and new injectors are in order--thoughts? Could it be something else?

Remove the air cleaner and run the fuel pump. Look down the TBI bores to see if fuel is leaking into the engine. If so rebuild the TB.

If no fuel then connect a scan tool and look at the CTS reading. If lower then ambient (on a cold engine), then replace the CTS and pigtail.

How do I run the fuel pump?

Also, I assume the CTS is the sensor in the intake, near the thermostat housing? The temp gauge seems to be reading ok....

At the brake booster where the relays are, should be a red pigtail with a fast-on terminal on it. Run a wire from it to the battery + terminal.

CTS is in the front of the intake, has two wires going to it. A yellow and a black.

Thanks for the help...swapped out the CTS (didn't touch the TB or the injectors...

Car is running the best since I bought it a couple months ago.

The difference really is amazing--night and day! I never would have thought of a coolant sensor causing driveability issues

Thanks for the help.
