TBI V6 & v8 are the same?

hello guys.
here with a silly question.
Im planning to make a carb to tbi conversion with my old nova, so it's kind of difficult to get a v8 harness around.. there's plenty of v6 blazers and stuff. so im wondering these v6 and v8 harnes TBI both will be the same if i use a v8 computer and other stuff v8 ?
of there's need to modify something..

thank you

Re: TBI V6 & v8 are the same?

For the most part, yes they are the same. More important is which ECM was used with the harness. There are basically three interior ECMs that were used:

two black connectors
two brown connectors
one red and one blue connector

Need to match the harness ECM connector colors up with whichever ECM you are going to use. The two (harness and ECM) need to match, otherwise a bunch of re-pinning is required.

Also, there are various harness lengths, which can be used to advantage. Full size vans have a really long harness. With the mini-vans having a really short harness. Not sure on pickup truck harness length.

The car harnesses are a medium length.
