Thirdgen.org in Chevy High Performance

Just got the new Chevy High Performance and there is an article about thirdgens. It also says, "If you'd like to visit a dedicated Third-gen website with lots of useful information, go to www.thirdgen.org". I thought that was pretty cool, i dont know if you care, just thought id let everyone know.

My heads are definately 190's. I still have to go out sometime tonight and get a copy of the magazine cause mine is at home and I'm at college. How big is the pic? Normal gallery "small" size?

its a pretty good size pic maybe 3" x 4". plus a small probly 1.5 x 2 pic of your engine. the mag is supposed to go to subscribers before the news stand so it might not be there today.

Thanks.

I'm very pissed though....I went to 8 different stores trying to find the magazine and nobody had it.....and it's snowing like crazy here. I had to borrow a friend's VW and I almost wrecked it!! Tomorrow I will have to check out Barnes and Noble.

I sent some digital pics in through their website back in Nov. for the Young Guns section.
Those are some sweet power numbers you have Matlock. What intake are you running on your car? I looked at your pics in readers rides, but couldn't identify it. What's the rest of your setup?

It's the new Holley Stealth Ram setup. I have a roller 355 4 bolt, afr 195s, longtubes, Mufflex 4", 3000 stall, and the normal mods necessary to support that power. I guess I'm a young gun also...It would be fun to get her in a magazine. I bugged GM High Tech once, but nothing ever became of it. I think if they saw it in person they'd reconsider. Thanks for the compliments.

...or on a milk carton.

That's all cool. I look through those periodically to see if there is anything of value there. I save articles with tech information once in a while. I've got some C&D articles from the '70s that are still valid. (What's really funny are the adverts.)

Keep it tech.

Later,

I didn't know the StealthRam supported those kinds of power numbers. Did you also port it and the heads?? Those are really high numbers.....especially with a 355 in my opinion. I am very jealous!

I didnt do any porting other than a little gasket matching. Basicly, the only magic at all is Ed Wright's dyno tuneup. That alone saw ~150HP over the stock chip tables. My combo must happen to be a great combination of parts. And all of that thanks is due to this board. (Which I've been reading since 1998.) If you search my posts, I've posted a list of all the driveline mods. My numbers are actual dyno numbers assuming a 20% driveline loss.
I think it would be pretty impressive to show up to a job interview with a magazine spread of your own work. Since I'll be looking for an engineering job soon, it's something that could set you out of the crowd.

I have an Ed Wright chip but it's not dyno tuned....I just sent him my combo and he burnt me one. It sucks, but that's what I get for blind tuning. Me and a friend are going to burn a new one the first weekend in March.....I'm hoping to pick up atleast 50 hp.....maybe more considering your statements.

Also does anyone know if the new issue of the magazine isn't in stores yet? I can't find the damned thing anywhere!!!

Ok well it's official....nobody in my area has the new issue of the magazine, or the magazine at all for that matter.

Can someone take a good digital pic of it or scan it in for me and e-mail it to me?

Matlock what are your cam specs by the way???

Dont feel bad about gm hitech. When I went to bristol johny hunkins saw my car and said hey is that a stealth ram, i sad yeah it is. The we talked for a few. he then told me to be there the next day to do some pics of the motor. Well Imet up with him the next day and he took like 40pics of the motor and the small mods I had to do to the fuel lines, hood, coil relocation etc. The he sai to send him the specs on the car etc. I did that and he told me that I sent it to him too late. He said that he was only oging ot use on pic of my car cause the article was already written and they were going to use my car as an example for the iroc they are building with a stealth ram. I was ok well there was no way to edit the story with pics? he said no sorry. I was ok no biggie. Then I look in the newest edition of popular hotting And i see my car on page 83 !!! I was thats cool. Its just a small pic of me line up against my friend in his pewter 99 ram air.
