wow that was vague..
What kind of car do you drive? What kind of engine does it have? TBI, TPI, carb, manual, auto, any mods, yatta yatta.. Also, if you could give more details about the symptoms...
It would go a long way for us to help you diagnose the problem.

Apologies if that was too vague
I have a 89 Firebird with a 305 TBI. The CAT has been removed and has larger pipes from the where the CAT back to the muffler, with 2 3" tailpipes.
I'm not sure what extra details you guys want; from standstill, if I put my foot down the car judders while pulling away. That's what I've observed.
Cheers,
Geoff

89,
Sounds as if you have a possible ignition misfire under higher cylinder pressures - a common malady with weak spark. Check teh condition of the distributor car, rotor, ignition wires, and spark plugs. Gap is important, since too wide a gap will be more prone to spark blowout.

Car: Tree Huggers
Engine: Do Not
Transmission: Appreciate Me.
I'm with Vader, I think it is ignition related. Does it also do it under load? Also is it every time from a stand still, or only when you bury the throttle?

that last post made my brain hurt! Burying the throttle = completely flooring it. What we're trying to figure out is if your rear tires are hopping or if the car is missing. does it have power to spin the tires off the line or is it down on power? when you break-torque the car does it spin the tires with ease or does it just make a bunch of ugly noises and buck?

Ok, In the past, if I completely floored it, then the tyres spun. If I put my foot down rapidly, but not all the way then I get the juddering or as you put it make a bunch of ugly noises and buck?
I think my car needs the spark plugs changed as well.
Does this help ?
