When it all goes wrong again

I'm in the process of putting in a Hurst dual gate shifter. It needs a little aligning so when I go to take out a nut I find I overtightened it .Its held in by a uclip lock tab. So now the nut is just spinning there and Its deep in the consloe so I cant get to it very well.
Any ideas would be very nice. I'd rather not have to drill the nut out, I'm not very good at it.

Try taking the console out, maybe?
