I am not sure if I understand your question but if I do this is my answer. GM made 305 TPI Formula Firebirds so they do exist. My car was a 1988 305 TPI 5-speed car.

Yes, it exists.
I have one. It is a 91 WS6 formula 5 speed.
I know that GM made two TPI 305 engines for the formula. I believe that they also put the 305 TBI in the formula as well.
There were the 305 TPI with automatic, which was rated at 205 hp and 290 ft-lb of torque, and the 305 TPI 5 speed, rated at 230 hp and 300 ft-lb of torque. The 5 speed 305 TPI car came with dual cats and the cam shaft from the L98.

My 87 Formula was a TPI 305 5 speed car as well. No dual cats, but it did have the L98 cam. No way for me to know if it was factory or not due to the age/mileage.

They ALL had the L98 camshaft from 1990-1992. Every factory 305 prom chip even has the same fuel tables in them.
Exhaust WAS THE DIFFERENCE between the two. The G92 cars got dual cats and more power. The non G92 cars got the same exhaust setup that chokes into a HORRIBLE Y and 2 1/4" pipe that the TBI cars got.

I've got one with a blown 305 sitting in my driveway, I think they were more common than the Formula 350's.
