timing chain??? cant find markings
i have an 82 trans am with a 305 in it i just put a new fuel pump in it a new carb and a new coil in the distributor i messed up the timing when i took the coil out now im restoring this car it didnt even have an interior in it when i got5 it let alone run im so close and now i cant find the markings on my harmonic belt i need to get the timing on if theres a way i can do this without the markings because being i have been searchign for liek 2 hours i dont think their there that would be awesome but if someone can just tell me maybe what exactly im looking for or where it would be close to that would be greatly appreciated and anyone have any ideas for finding a vacuum leak i still have a small one

The timing tab is behind the water pump, straight up at 12 o'clock.
The mark on the damper will be at 12 o'clock when the #1 (or #6) piston is at top dead center.
