help diagnose oil consomption???
i have a newly rebuilt 5.7 bored .060 over and it is smoking like h$ll.but only from the pass side ?
its a tpi 5.7
i tore it down figuring heads bad and tryed another set and same prob?i have oil in the intake runners of the head and new intake valves have a thick coating of oil on backside of valve
my guess is that the intake isnt sealing properly and sucking oil from valve gally.since the torqe sequence is drivers side firstand then pass bottom side not fully sealing??
i also put a clear fuel filter in between the pvc and intke to catch oil thats being sucked into intake.
heads are both rebilt ,new guids seals everything,even tryed diff typs of valve seals but didnt matter. i have true duel exhast .if wandering how i know what side is buring oil.and 6,8 plugs are soaked with oil bad .
on startup smokes lilbit then gets worse.when driving .it dont smoke as bad when excellerating,but decelleration is like having my own smoke screen and only from pass side .
was thinking bout taring down again and torqing from pass side first to see if driver side would start smoking to see it the intke is not sealing.
oh yeh when removing head oil is standing on top of pistons ??maby teaspoon full??and pistons are as clean as can be,and not burnt up or sludged.
im desperate for thoughts!

plugged off pvc ,and no diff!
the 5.7 block i have is from an 89 chv truck,and i have set of heads from 84 corvett,and 86 iroc.the iroc heads are from 5.0 tpi 58cc with machined 2in intake valves.and the other 1s are the light 624s that are junk.

Time for a leak-down test. If that looks good, I'd guess you have two bad sets of heads (guides).

an old friend told me to tare back down ,and take heads off ,and put back together this time put a bead of rtv on the intake gasket and let it harden and this time put heads on and new bolts ,but dont torqe the heads first ,he said do the intake first soas to pull the heads to intake rather than intake to heads.
now im no expert and this intake has been torqed at least5 times that i know of .could there be distortion on the intakes part?and i dont know how much my heads were shaved? this block came with 193 heads but i cant use them with the tpi intake.how much diff is the block ?do i have the wrong block for the heads i have?
