Under Hood Clearance?
My Z28 has a carb'd 305 and eventaully I want to replace the intake with something like an edlebrock performer. I remember talking with the PO that the clearance is limited. Will that fit or will I have to find something different? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The TPI is a fairly tall intake and has no clearance issues. Ive seen several carbed setups with no issues as well. I don't see where the Performer would be a problem.

Re: Under Hood Clearance?
Thanks! After I get my 67 burb and 72 ventura running (at least enough to move around the yard), I'm hoping to do a little work to the camaro to give it a little more get up and go. If the engine checks out ok I was wanting to swap out heads, intake, cam, and install headers. For now I'm just going to get it reliable so I have a good back up car for if/when my commuter breaks down.

Re: Under Hood Clearance?
Performer I would pass on - for a carbed setup the Performer RPM or the Air Gap RPM seems to be the preferred Edelbrock intake - they are taller than a standard Performer, but no one has clearance issues with them - just have to get a tad creative with air filter housing/element (ie drop base housing and/or 2in rather than 3in filter). The Air Gap RPM and the Performer RPM are identical heights - some prefer the Air Gap for that tad of extra cooling of the fuel. I'm runing a Performer RPM with no clearance issues on a stock hood. The standard Performer is kind of a waste of cash - no real gains over a stock intake.
